"Cherry, can I ask you something?" Alex asked me one Friday afternoon when we were making our way back from school.

"Nope," I said, popping the p as I smirked like I have won a lottery because I know that it will annoy him.

"I'm serious."

"Okay, bring it on," I said giggling slightly when I saw him fumbling with his hands as small beads of sweat start to form on his forehead.

"Will you go on a date with me?"

I was caught off guard by his question. Out of all the things, he had to ask me that? I'm sure he's just making fun of me. It's not like I wouldn't want to go on a date with him, it's just he doesn't seem like the dating type.

How do I know that?

This whole time he has been to my school, a lot of girls have been throwing themselves at him but not once has he even glance at them. So the fact that he wants to go on a date with me is very questionable.

Gulping down my nervousness, I forced out a laugh."Now that's funny. You got me there for a second."

When he didn't laugh, I realized that he was serious. "You are shitting me, right?" I couldn't even look him in the eye because he might make fun of me if he realized that I'm taking this seriously.

"Why would you want to go on a date with me?" I raised my eyebrows in question.

"I-umm... kind of in trouble with my mom, and I really need your help. Please Cherry," he pleaded.

"What trouble is that getting you all worked up?"

"My mom set me up with her friend's daughter because apparently we both were shy and have not been out with friends in a while," he gulped, pausing for a second. "So, they thought it was a good idea if we could hang out."

I tried so hard not laugh, but a bit disappointed though. I don't know what I wanted to hear, but hearing that he just wants a favor from me, made me realize how foolish I am. "Then what's the problem? Why are you acting like she's asking you to marry her?"

"I-I.. kind of told her that I like someone else and I'm supposed to be going on a date today. It was Tuesday when I told her that, and I thought she will forget, but no, she's even more excited than me." He released a frustrated sigh after his long speech.

"You aren't excited because you don't have a date." I just couldn't hold it in anymore, so I bursted out laughing.

"Hey, that's not funny at all. I'm here in need of your help, and all you are doing is laugh at me?" He pretended to be sad, jabbing out his lower lip which only made me burst into fits of laughter again.

As my laughter died down a bit, I looked at him to make fun of him more, only to find his deep hazel eyes already staring at me. I shifted a bit in my seat because his intense stare was making me a tab bit uncomfortable. Or more like hot all over.

You know that feeling when you feel a sudden warmth all over your body and you can even hear the rush of your blood to your heart in your ears? That's more like it.

His stare is like a blazing fire. A dangerous fire that will wrap it's long tongue-like-flames around you and burn you to ashes.
