I have this problem. I am locked out of my apartment on a hot day with no water, no gas, no phone, and no key. I seriously need to step up my game if I want to live much longer. This has happens three times in the past month and it always results in me screaming for help, or water. I live in Florida, so it's pretty hot here. My neighbors are all at least 85 years old and can barely walk so I don't have the heart to knock on their doors. I guess I will just have to wait until my roommates get home from work. My roommates are also my best friends so when they come home to see me locked out, I always get a lecture. Megan gets home around 3:30, and Eleni gets home around 4:00. Okay great, only 2 hours until Megan gets home. I decide I am not going to sit here for that long so I walk down the road a ways. All I see is the new furniture store that is completely outdated. But, they might have air conditioning so I go inside. The door creaks as I step in, the building being old. There isn't much furniture in here, just two couches and a TV. But there are other rooms. Cool air hits me in the face immediately. I like this place! I sit down on a cozy couch and doze off.

"ALLY! I come home from work getting a voicemail saying that your here, in someone's house, sleeping on THIER COUCH!" That's what I woke up to. Megan screaming at me. I get up cautiously, seeing two police men and an old lady.

"It's a girl!" The old woman said. "I thought she was a tomato because her hair is so-" I cut her off angrily.

"LISTEN OLD LADY-" Megan came by and cupped her hand over my mouth.

"We will be leaving now," Megan orders. Just as she pulled me up Eleni came running through the door.

"Oh thank god- Megan's got this one," she said as she turned to leave. Megan dragged me out of the building and into her car as she drove a quarter mile back to our apartment. We both got out of the car.

"Allie, that boy has been keeping you up so late every night. This is beginning to get old," Megan started her lecture. "For god sales Allie, you guys are up all night every night- causing you to be forgetful, and fall asleep in other peoples houses."

"Sorry," I mumble. The boy Megan was talking about, is my boyfriend Luke. He comes over every night and we hang out until like three in the morning, then he leaves. It's quite fun. Eleni entered the room.

"Luke called, he told me to tell you he can't come tonight." I knew she cancelled. Probably said I was sick or something. Classic Eleni. Trying to stop us from hanging out. Classic Megan. Lecturing me even though I am never going to listen. I love them, I really do, but I feel the need to protect THEM. It's like your the parent, and your kid is trying to be in charge of you. That's what it's like living with them.

"Okay," I answer calmly, as I turn on the television.

I know Eleni is talking to me, but I can't here a word that girl is saying. I am watching the news, and we are in danger. Some strange elf-looking dudes are apparently in our town a few miles away, burning buildings and chasing people. This seems so fake, you can tell the guys are in costumes. I just want to make sure so call the police station. RING RING. RING RING. RING RING. They don't answer. I try again. No answer. This seems peculiar. Just as I put the phone down, the news shows the burning police building. I run upstairs, grab Megan and order Eleni to the basement as I hear a knock on the door. I don't turn back once to look to see who it is. I just run to the basement, pushing the girls along.
