The day went on; I didn't run into that jock again. Thank God. After school, I met up with my friends at the bike racks. Once everyone was there, we decided to go to Dairy Queen. I hopped on the back of Anne's bike as we all peddled down the sidewalks. Soon we were there. I was annoyed by the events of this morning, so I told them what I wanted and hung out by the bike rack to smoke. After digging around my backpack for a few second, I found my pack of cigarettes and pulled one out. I lit it then stuffed my lighter along with my left hand into my jacket pocket. I took a few long drags before I got too cold and went inside. I looked around, heard my name being called, and walked towards the sound. Soon I found everyone in the round corner booth. It was meant for at least eight people, but the four of us were most comfortable in it than any of the others. Not long after I sat down with them, our food came. I grabbed a few fries and dipped them in my ice cream. Maddie put a pile of ketchup on a napkin for all of us to share then added a bit too much salt. "What the fuck," Anne complained. "What?" Maddie questioned. "You're so gross! that's so much salt. This food is already bad enough then you make it worse. Jesus H. Christ, maddie!"
They bickered on for a few minutes, until I said, "Anne has a point. That is a bit too salty, but the meal is already unhealthy I doubt it'll make much of a difference." They both sighed and Anne muttered something under her breathe which I chose to ignore. "Oh! By the way, on my way to bio today some asshole from the football team smacked my ass," I said with a sarcastic smile on my face. Alex looked up from her phone after being silent for so long and exclaimed, "What the hell!" I'd known her since we were seven, and she's always been protective of me. "What did he look like? I swear to god I'll chop off his dick!"
"Calm down. It's my fault after making a great reputation for myself over the summer," I said while shoving a few fries in my mouth.
They all rolled their eyes. They weren't being mean just tired of me beating myself up over what happened.
