"Hey Violet." Jay spoke first.
"Hey. I didn't know you came to the party." I managed a reply, even though the very reason I came to the party was to see him.
"Yeah. Tom's my homie, I couldn't just reject his invitation. Didn't expect to see you though." He smiled.
"Well, here I am!" I shrugged, not knowing how to continue the conversation.
It became really quiet, both of us not knowing what to say next.
The music became loud suddenly and we turned around to face the living room where many started dancing.
"Well...you wanna dance with me?" He gave me a sly smile and stretched out a hand. I stood frozen for what seems like forever before he started shaking me and calling my name.
"Violet, you okay?" He put his hand onto my forehead. "Are you sick?" Now that he had placed his hand on my forehead, I felt sick. Get a grip on yourself, Violet, there's no way he likes you.
"Nah, I'm fine. Really." Now I, stretched out my hand to him instead.
He narrowed his eyes before taking my hand in his hand and we danced to the beat.
It wasn't like in those romantic movies or anything of that sort where the guy and girl starts kissing. It was funny. Partly because I kept tripping over my feet and my face was flushed red, but it made both of us laugh. I laughed really hard, because I had just embarrassed myself in front of the guy that I've been crushing on like forever. He laughed too, possibly because he didn't expect me to be such a klutz. But suddenly he stopped laughing. He stared intently at something or someone behind me. I turned around, only to face a girl of my age who was obviously drunk. She walked clumsily, tripping over herself a few times and laughed hysterically. She had an empty cup in her hand. Her vision must have cleared; she walked steadily this time, towards me. Then she pointed at me.
"Get away from him, you little slut. He's mine."Her speech was slurred.
Then everyone started talking among themselves, gossiping about her.
Gossiping about my twin sister.
