CHAPTER NINETEEN
D-DAY
The day of snowfall had been extremely abundant in the time that Mariella had dozed off in an unfamiliar bed. If she had been extremely observant that night, she would have told her fellow friends that Miaomoryi didn't want her to walk alone to the common rooms, only for her to be alome once more. Of course the argument regarding Melanie's and Roman's presence wasn't enough to satisfy which was why she had found herself inside the depths of many blankets and thick sweaters, ensuring that she wouldn't get sick in the night.
According to Marlene, Peter had been issued a full day out of the any lessons that day due to a severe case of influenza that had been reportedly inflicted by a boy going by the name Phillip Flammel ( probably sneezed on his bloody sandwich disgusting git, says Mary ). Mariella snorts. Lily throws a boot at the pair.
She had also told them about finding the remaining boys out and about to throw out some of their remaining pranks at the first years purely for entertainment purposes whereas Remus was in the library, accompanied by Miaomoryi who had insisted to speak with him.
"I highly doubt there will be any speaking if it's between those two," Mary inputs once again and swiftly manages to dodge another boot that Lily was preparing to throw at the giggling girl. "I mean they are suitable for one another but how long do you think Remus will be able to keep his hands off her?"
"He has managed all these years. I'm sure he can manage a few measly minutes before fevering each other with kisses of a sort," Lily replies with a roll of her eyes.
"Don't be so envious Lily. Friendly competition won't kill you," says Mariella with a small smile on her lips. She goes on further to roll her eyes when Lily gives her a look regarding the irony of the situation.
"I'm not jealous, Mariella. I'm just highly concerned that something like that seems more to do with James and his despicable acts when it comes to the treatment of girls. I've rarely seen him that confident when it comes to speaking to someone as oblivious and hyperactive as Miaomoryi. Someone as rebellious as her is bound to strike something in that poor boy's hormones." The statement alone was enough to put the three of them into a laughing fit, all of which had managed to stretch a smile on the ginger herself.
She wasn't that off from the idea that was speculating in her mind. Brief flashbacks from the time that Remus would get flustered when speaking about her to Charlotte and herself would make her smile just how much he was infatuated with her.
"Ahh young love. How truly beautiful it is to watch two souls connect in such a harmonious way. And at what better time than Christmas?" And then Mary breaks into a dance with Marlene suddenly accompanying her in turn, the pair suddenly breaking out into a song and cheer, all of which had shattered when they fell onto one another, breaking out into fits of laughter that rang out through the room.
A smile that small should have been illegal, Lily thinks blissfully when watching Mariella join in.
