Bass 17 Chapter 8

The plane trip went quite quickly. Apart from the occasional vomit and toilet break, I slept through most of it. Thank god it was a direct flight to London airport. The flight attendant gave me my phone back but kept checking on me to make sure I wasn't calling anyone. I didn't eat a thing, I felt so sick. None of One Direction came to visit me. Not even Niall. For some reason I was particularly off-put by that.

I was sleeping when I heard the loud screeching sound that signaled the captain was about to make an announcement.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have arrived at London airport. The weather is cloudy and the time is 4:30 pm. thank you for flying with us and we hope to see you again soon."

London?! Already?! Time had rushed past me like a freight train. I remembered I had to get my bag from under the seat back in first class and groaned. I didn't want to go back. Not with Harry probably still mad at me.

But just as I was about to get up and go back to collect the bag the male flight attendant arrived with it slung over his shoulder. He then proceeded to drop the bag at my feet and scowl at me.

I figured he didn't really like me very much. But at least he got me my bag.

I opened it to find everything where I last left it. Except something was missing. I didn't get to find out as I was distracted by the doors to the cabin openly loudly and the sound of rushing feet and chatter as people left the plane. I realized it was my time to go so I stood up and grabbed my bag, happy to be leaving the plane.

I rushed off the plane along with a few other people. It seemed I was one of the last people leaving the plane. That was good. It meant One Direction were probably already in their car to go home.

I rushed through the white walled tunnel that lead to the airport. The sound of chatter was growing louder as I neared the opening. Once I did I was surprised to find a man in a suit looking straight at me. He smiled and started walking toward me. It was then I saw what he was holding. It was my pink suitcase.

"Hello, Sir. I've come to pick you up. Simon arranged your transport and it's waiting for you outside." He said, graciously taking my duffel bag from my hands. I thanked him before following his large figure down the hall of gates.

I saw a huge sign that said: Welcome to London!

Heathrow airport was massive. The ceiling was a steel construction of glass and metal which hung over the wide space that was the luggage check-in and pickup.

But instead of picking up anything (I had all my luggage) we headed straight for a large door that headed outside.

It was raining. Like, really, raining. I couldn't see a meter into the pouring water it was so thick. I thought I should probably get used to it. It was always raining in London apparently!

I was still following the tall man in the black suit along the sheltered walkway next to where taxis honked and people rushed from one side of the road to to the other. A car honked really loudly from behind me and I turned around in surprise but kept walking backwards. Turning back around my face knocked into something hard and my whole body fell to the ground.

Looking up, I squealed.

It was One Direction's huge faces smiling down at me. But it wasn't really them. It took me a few seconds to realize I was looking up at the back of a bus with a picture of their faces on it.

The man was by my side in an instant, helping me up.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, wiping my bum off. Great. It was wet.

"My name is Paul. I'm the boys body guard." he said.

"Well, thanks, Paul." I smiled sincerely. I liked Paul. He was kind.

"Let's get you into the bus. The boys will be here soon." he said, leading me around the bus.

"Wait, what?" Did he say the boys were coming? But Paul didn't answer. He didn't have to. I then saw the pack of girls waiting not far away near the doors into the airport. They started screaming and going wild. I could then see why. One Direction exited the airport smoothly. All of them except Liam had sunglasses pulled over their eyes. Paul rushed over to make a path through the squealing pack. I was still standing dumbfounded at the steps into the bus.

As soon as Harry saw me he quickened his pace and walked past me icily and into the bus. Louis did the same. Niall yet again just smiled at me. Liam patted my shoulder and yelled a 'hi'. Zayn rushed past me onto the bus. The pack of girls started to surround me. They were screaming out the boys name. Asking for my photo. Touching me with aggressiveness. It was kind of scary. The girls started to become more ferocious and started yelling at me. They got to a point where there faces were red and angry. They wanted to know who I was. I couldn't breathe all of a sudden!

I felt like I was drowning under all of them! Help!

Suddenly a hand grabbed my jacket and pulled me into the bus. The doors shut and the noise subdued. Paul raced around the front and jumped into the drivers seat and put the bus into gear. We started to roll and soon then cheers and screams were just a distant hum.

I started to breathe again, relieved. Looking up at my savior I gasped.

It was girl. Probably the prettiest girl I'd ever seen. She had long chocolate coloured hair with sparkling brown eyes and full pink lips.

She was wearing a army green blouse with bright blue jeans. She was skinny but by the looks of her toned arms she was fit and strong. Well, she had enough strength to throw me around anyway.

I realized I was kind of leaning on her so I quickly got up and turned to face her.

"Jesus. Thanks. I was in trouble there for a second." I smiled.

Her face that was once full with adrenaline became flushed and she smiled broadly.

"No problem, love." he voice was friendly more than anything. It seemed to say: 'I want to be there for you. I care for you.'

I smiled back.

"I'm Charlie." I held out my hand.

But it was smacked away by Louis. I was so mesmerized by this girl that I totally didn't realize Louis had come over.

"This is my girlfriend, Eleanor Calder." He said. He looked me up and down before making his way back into the bus. Eleanor rolled her eyes, making me giggle. She grabbed Louis' hand and followed him inside.

I patted Paul on the shoulder.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"Lexington place. It's were your new house is."

"Aren't I staying in a hotel?"

Paul chuckled.

"Love, your going to be here a lot longer than that."

"What do you mean?" I was confused.

But then I heard another voice behind me. It was Zayn.

"Charlie, we're recording a new album. It's going to take a while, in it, Paul?"

"Got that right." Paul nodded.

"So I'm living in a house? By myself?" I asked Zayn this time. Zayn smirked.

"Who said you were living alone?"
