When he jumped in, the water was cold and crisp against his skin. He pushed on diving deeper, and he didn't realize it but he was swimming at an angle. Eventually it became hard for him to breathe and out of instinct he tried to reach the surface of the water hoping he would get a refreshing breath of air. Instead, he was greeted with cold hard concrete instead of oxygen. Slowly the water began to fill his lungs. Drowning he thought. He was drowning. In his last minutes of life he saw a beautiful women swim towards him with an emerald green tail that seemed to glow in the dark water. He was saved he thought, but instead of saving him, the mermaid bared her sharp teeth before sinking them deep into his neck. He thought he would find treasure, but was met with death. Or was he?
