Luke was zoned out the entire day, from when he was restocking men's shampoo at ten in the morning to when he was clocking out of his part time job and on his way home at three in the afternoon. It was a quick walk, only fifteen minutes opposed to the walk home from the waiter job he had at a bar. That was nearly an hour long walk. He's been thinking about tonight with Michael, and wondering just what could happen. He went as far as imagining either sleeping with him or punching him square in the face. It's really up to him whether he wants to be a nice guy or a creep. Luke honestly hates creeps, and he's going to be mad disappointed if Michael is one. If he isn't and things go well, who's to say things won't get a little heated?
Luke enjoys sex, nothing wrong with that.
When he got home, he immediately jumped into his shower. He shaved all that needed to be shaved and scrubbed the sweat and stink off of him from walking home. He didn't stop until he smelt of his favorite coconut and lavender body wash and shampoo. Even then, he followed it up with the matching lotion for his dry skin.
When he finished making sure he was irresistible (not that he honestly had that much confidence in himself), he stood in front of his wardrobe. He rested his cheek on his fist as he stared at the clothes hanging, unsure just how comfortable he was with himself and around other people to wear a majority of what hung on the hangers or was folded on his shelf.
Fuck it.
He only had so many clean clothes left, considering what he wears to work is because of dress codes and public decency (or so his bosses say). Whatever was in his closet he'd deal with, even if it was high waisted black skinny jeans a button down shirt that may have been a little too short for a male to wear without criticism.
If Michael didn't like it, oh well. He doesn't need to be in Luke's life.
-
Luke was waiting outside his apartment building for Michael's car, and when a sleek black Benz pulled up, he couldn't say he expected it. He already felt inadequate and under dressed, and when pedestrians stopped to stare he could feel his heartbeat quicken. He was nervous. He didn't want to fuck this up.
He walked up to the car and the door was already being opened for him by whoever just left the driver's seat. He didn't know if he should be worried someone was driving him and a complete stranger around, but he had the cops ready to be called if need be.
Sure he hated his life, but he wasn't ready to die just yet. Not even to the hands of two attractive men.
He smiled at the driver and then got in, a quiet, "Thank you," slipping past his lips before the door shut. He looked at the look before turning the the man beside him.
"You seem worried."
"I'm just a little... overwhelmed and nervous. Worried isn't a word I'd use." Luke smiled and Michael nodded.
"I apologize. Do we look scary?" He asked and Luke shook his head. "We were listening to Disney on our way over."
"My daughter left her CD in the tray. Michael especially loves the songs from Aladdin." The driver laughed before he started the car. "Seatbelts."
Luke immediately buckled his seatbelt and then crossed his legs. "My favorite songs are from Tangled." Luke murmured shyly, his cheeks red as he heard Michael chuckle.
"Arabella loves that movie most. Maybe because she resembles Rapunzel herself, courtesy of her father." Michael motioned to the driver, who was a light blond with green eyes and fair skin.
"That's cute." Luke smiled and then looked at his lap feeling a little less intimidated by the two males. They were talking about kids and Disney, honestly, Luke feels more comfortable in the car than he does at his day job.
"So, how has your day been?" Michael asked and Luke looked at him. "Stressful?"
"Very." Luke nodded as he turned a bit to face him. "My coworkers are complete idiots but I have to pretend to give a crap about their problems and people don't know how to put things where the originally went. I found diapers in the outdoors supplies."
"Sounds like a hard day." Michael agreed. "Does that happen every day?"
"Six hours a day, five days a week, for like ten dollars an hour." Luke sighed. "My waiting job pays like fourteen an hour and its like eight hours a day, five days a week too."
"When are your days off?" He asked and Luke leaned back in the car and shrugged.
"Um... I have Saturday and Sunday off for my day job and Wednesday and Thursday off the night job." Luke told him and he nodded. "It's not the best schedule, but it works."
"Sounds hectic. And I thought my job was demanding." Michael laughed lightly. "You're busy."
"Always." Luke nodded and then looked outside to find them stuck in traffic. It wasn't too bad, but traffic always sucks. "Where are we going?"
"Oh, a restaurant Chester enjoys. He says it's amazing." Michael answered. "I never been there. I eat chicken nuggets from the frozen aisle, so anything is good to me."
"Chester?" Luke asked and Michael pointed to the driver. "Oh."
Cheater laughed, and gave a wave before gripping the steering wheel again. Luke looked away and then looked at Michael. "What do you do?"
"Pardon? We're going to dinner, isn't that self-explana-"
"Career wise. What do you do?" Luke cut him off as he felt his face grow red. Michael just laughed, along with the driver.
"Whoops. My bad." Michael apologized. "I'm a music producer and record label manager with my best friend."
"Oh, that's cool." Luke didn't know what to say, so he just asked questions about Michael's job like if he enjoys it or not.
He didn't even mind that they didn't get the the restaurant for another twenty minutes. He actually liked Michael. Which is strange. Luke normally doesn't like people.
