All of the girls went home the next day. It feels kind of lonely without them. It was just Maxon, King Clarkson, Queen Amberly and me at lunch.
It was silent at first... which I didn't mind. I didn't really want to be face-to-face with the King at this point.
I could tell he didn't like this situation either.
"Lady America, now that you will be marrying Maxon, wedding preparations need to be made. We can meet in the women's room after breakfast to discuss some minor details." the queen smiled. I could tell that she was exited to finally have another child.
"That would be lovely, your majesty." I wasn't too exited about going through the planning process of the wedding. My mother said she just had a simple wedding with their parents to witness. That's more of what I would want. But I don't think that's an option.
"Yes. Maxon, we will talk after breakfast in my office."
I don't know why, but I always tense up when he talks about meeting in his office. Even if he's not planning to beat Maxon senseless.
Maxon and I walked out of breakfast together with our hands intertwined. I loved it. With something just as simple as holding hands I felt my love for Him.
We parted ways and I went to the women's room and Maxon went upstairs to the third floor. I walked in with the queen already with papers all over the table. They were of color and fabric swatches and music CDs, torn out magazines pages with wedding dresses on them... and anything else you could possibly think of for a wedding.
"Ok dear. We'll start simple. What do you want the main colors of your wedding to be?" She seemed very exited. I would be, too, if it was my only son's wedding.
"I was thinking blue and either yellow or silver. I just can't decide." I had been thinking about this since last night and I still couldn't decide. Either one would be stunning.
"I think that silver would go best but it's up to you, dear."
After hours of planning, I exhaustedly went up to my room to lie down. When I had to stay in the room I had during the selection because the princess suite is still being worked on with everything that I designed it to be. Sometimes when you go to the third floor you can hear the power tools drilling holes in the wall.
The Queen and I decided to have a dress fitting later that week. It was all becoming real now. I was getting married. To a prince. I will be a queen. I will run the country. It was all too stressful to think of right now. I decided to see if Maxon was available.
I rang for Anne, Mary, and Lucy to come up and give them a note that I had just written to Maxon. They came down with the same note but writing written on the back
Meet me in the garden in 10 minutes
The 10 minutes flew by quickly as I was fixing my hair and redoing some if my mascara.
Maxon was already at the bench waiting for me. We could only go out to the bench now because of the rebel attacks. There hasn't been one in a while so we can actually go outside now.
We just talked for a little while. About planning the wedding and our future. It was a very interesting conversation. I kind of liked talking about these things. It made me feel prepared for what was coming ahead.
"So your mom and I are going wedding dress shopping on Wednesday and I think..." I was cut of by the sound of two gunshots.
I saw Maxons face instantly turn pale. I whispered his name. Everything went black as I heard him shout my name.
