Chapter 21: Old friendships.

Camila's POV.

Today was the day that I had to leave back to New York with my parents, it was barely 5 am and I haven't slept a bit, admiring Lauren while she slept.

My flight was set for the afternoon around 5 pm, so I still had the entire day to enjoy with Lauren.

Admiring her while she slept was one of the things I get to enjoy the most, her soft features looked so relaxed, as if she was having some sweet dream, her arms here loosely hanging around my waist, and her head was laying on my chest, I kept caressing her arm softly while I was in deep thought.

I had confessed Cara that I love Lauren, and I really do, with all my heart, and all in me was screaming to say it out loud and confess her how I feel, but maybe it was too soon. Sometimes people fall in love too quickly, maybe because that person is their soulmate, and I felt so much with Lauren since day one, every time her arms were wrapped in me, I felt like home, and maybe this distance thing might slowly kill me, but for Lauren I would swim across the ocean, until I reached for her arms.

A little tear escaped, and quickly wiped it with the back of my hand. Thinking about all this made me so emotional, and even more knowing that in a few hours I will be gone, and I won't have the woman I love next to me to wake up every day.

"Camz? Why are you crying?" Lauren woke up and she had a worried expression.

"I just don't want to leave" I said giving her a smile, but voicing my thoughts made more tears escape.

"I know Camz" Lauren said cleaning my tears.

"Do you think that if I call my parents they will let me stay longer? I am in vacations, and Dinah is as well, and I really don't want to leave" I said voicing my thoughts out loud.

"You can try, you know I would be so happy to have you here with me, and Mani would be so happy that Dinah gets to stay too" Lauren said. It was almost 6 am and I honestly couldn't wait, anymore so I took my phone and called my parents.

"Cami?" my mom answered in a super sleepy voice "What happened? It's really early"

"Mami, do you think Dinah and I can stay a few days more here? We really don't want to leave yet" I said with all the hope that she would say yes.

"Oh yes, actually your father and I wanted to talk to you about that, do you think you can come to have breakfast at the restaurant? Bring your friends if you want to and we will talk then okay mija?" My mom said and now I was really curious to know what was happening.

"Okay, we will be there by 8, bye mami" I said hanging the phone, after hearing an I love you from my mother.

"What did she say?" Lauren asked me about the phone call, hugging me tight.

"She wants to talk about me staying here, she didn't say no nor yes, and she said to go have breakfast in the restaurant, all of us. Let's wake up Dinah and Mani in a bit, and let's call Ally" I said kissing Lauren's forehead.

"You are so comfy to sleep" Lauren said all of a sudden, laying her head on my chest, and covering us in a blanket.

"You are only with me to use me as a pillow" I said laughing and caressing my girlfriend's arm with the tip of my fingers.

"That is very true, love" Lauren said laughing, and lifting her head poking her lips for me to kiss them, which I gladly did.

"I hope this talk goes good and they let me stay" I said looking up at the roof, feeling Lauren's relaxed and soft breathing against my neck.

"I hope so too, I'm not really ready to go back to only seeing you through a screen" Lauren said in a calmed voice.

None of us spoke for a few more minutes, then we did our morning hygiene, after waking up Normani and Dinah and calling Ally.

Our way to the restaurant was filled with Dinah dramatically wanting to jump out of the car because she didn't want to go back home to babysit her army of siblings, and Normani trying to keep the car's door locked, and I was just enjoying it all too much.

Once we got to the restaurant we all went down and greeted my parents, Ally was already there and seems like she baked some cookies, we all took one automatically moaning at the amazing taste the cookies had. Breakfast came a little more than 5 minutes later, and all of us started to eat.

"So, what did you want to talk about mom?" I asked taking a piece of pancake into my mouth, and cleaning my lips with a napkin after, because I added too much syrup.

"Oh yes mija" my mother started and she took my father's hand that was resting on the table.

"We know you want to stay" my father started and I nodded "and your mother and I have to leave back in few hours, because there was a little problem at work, Dinah and you can stay as long as Lauren doesn't get bored of you two, but there is one condition" he finished raising his eyebrow.

"Which is?" Dinah asked as none of us talked.

"You mija, have to stay in charge of the restaurant" my mother said and I widened my eyes at what she just said.

"What?" I asked is disbelief. Were they really asking me this?

"This restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, but you would only have to come for one of those shifts or both, depending on you, we aren't asking for you to stay 8 hours here, but you will have to be in charge of this" my mother explained as she let go of my dad's hand to drink her orange juice.

"I mean, not that I don't want to, but why me?" I asked a little confused over the situation, my parents had friends all over the city, they could have easily hired some of them.

"We trust you enough to make this work" they said at the same time, which made me laugh, sometimes my parents were like mind connected or something.

"So, when do I start?" I asked them as we finished our breakfast.

"Tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, depends on you, everybody here got instructions that you were going to be in charge" my dad informed me.

After that we kept our breakfast in a nice chat, Ally was telling us some stories that literally kept us smiling all along, Normani and Dinah often contributed on stories, and Lauren was involved on a conversation with my parents, about different topics, while I tried to listen both sides.

Once breakfast was done, we all said our goodbyes and returned home, Lauren had to go to work today in the afternoon and I decided to go with her, Dinah Normani and Ally were going shopping, and we all would sleep over at Ally's house today.

Once Lauren and I got to her house, we saw someone on the entrance door, with some luggage, a beautiful woman typing on her phone.

"Who is that?" I said to Lauren, she stopped the car on the entrance, and took her glasses off to take a better look.

"Vero?" Lauren whispered to herself, she turned off the car and got down, and I followed her, confused. "Vero?" Lauren repeated this time louder, and the woman lifted her head.

"Hello bitch! Finally," said the woman running to Lauren and giving her a tight hug she said "I missed you so much."

I just there confused, and watched my girlfriend still not letting go of the woman.

Who is this Vero girl?
