Shock.
Tyler narrowed his eyes at his bright tv screen, glancing over at his alarm clock that blinked in bright blue colors and read two am. The news showed a crime scene, to which he usually wouldn't be interested in until he heard a name that was able to take his breath a way in such a way that it seemed he was drowning. Like he was aware and everyone around him was distant and frozen, and he was pleading for them to notice. Except he wasn't pleading at all, he sat completely still in his hotel room, his face pale as a single tear trailed down his cheek.
His mind was filled with so many emotions, the main one being shock, as he listened to the calm voice speaking into a small microphone on an empty highway and what appeared to be his wife's badly damaged car evident in the background. 'This evening around ten pm sharp, neighbors were alerted by a car horn blasting, yet the source of the car was unknown. People went to investigate, and they later found the source, as well as a young woman later found out to go by the name of Jenna Joseph, dead on the scene. According to those witnesses, the scene was incredibly graphic. We later arrived to discover the woman lying limp on the steering wheel, an arm missing and her stomach sliced open by glass from the window shield. Autopsy showed that the woman was found to be-' The tv was then cut off as Josh appeared from the other hotel bedroom, remote gripped tightly in hand as he stared at Tyler.
"What's wrong?" He sat the remote down on the kitchen counter and walked over, the other only managing to glance over as he appeared to be glued to his spot on the couch. "She's dead." His words pierced his own heart from how emotionless yet filled with emotion they appeared to be, that didn't make sense really, but to him it made more sense than it should. Josh tilted his head, a confused expression on his face, as if he knew nothing of the recent death, although, it was on every news station at the moment, and it had been for the past four hours. He took this chance to rush over to Tyler, to which the other then became weak and started sobbing, not really acknowledging Josh's presence as he was pulled into him. Josh muttered little encouraging words to hopefully lighten the other's mood a bit, although he couldn't say that he wasn't confused in the slightest.
Of course, Josh didn't see anything special with Jenna in the first place, so he was confused as to why Tyler was mourning over her. Sure, he wasn't an idiot, he knew that she was Tyler's wife, but he didn't think that someone that useless deserved to be mourned over. She was just an obstacle. A hindrance to their relationship. At least, that's what he saw and thought. He was also confused as to why Tyler wasn't with him yet. That was what was supposed to happen, right? Josh would get rid of the thing separating him and his lover and they would live happily together, right? Of course, no-one knew that Josh had taken part in Jenna's death. Even if people were suspicious, no-one would accuse him of anything. He appeared to be far to innocent then he truly was, and he was easy with manipulating others into thinking he had done nothing wrong. Sometimes just his appearance itself did that.
Her death was also labeled as a car crash, and no-one seemed to acknowledge the fact that Jenna's stomach was sliced open. The reason for this was because Josh had been scaringly precise, by cutting her arm off using material from the car that had bent and was left easy to pull apart. The slicing of her stomach was for reasons Tyler had yet to learn, but Josh was keen on not letting him find that out, not now or ever. Tyler cried for hours on end, and all throughout, Josh continued to hug him and soothe him to the best of his ability, even if he didn't fully understand why Tyler was so upset.
He couldn't help but smirk as he held the other though, knowing that he had been so very successful in his plans of killing off the weakest link. He had planned this for a while, and he was getting quite impatient with making Tyler his. "How are you?" Josh's voice was filled with worry and fake pity, but again, he was good at manipulating people into believing him, so his question seemed so wholehearted anyone would believe it. Tyler forced a weak smile, his crying finally stopping, but only because he honestly didn't think he had anything else left to cry. His cheeks were tear stained and his eyes were puffy and red, he looked absolutely pitiful. Josh was a little annoyed that he didn't get an answer, but he just held the other close and sighed, waiting a while until Tyler actually spoke. "You wanna know something?" His voice was quiet and timid, and Josh nodded eagerly, wanting to know exactly what was on the other's mind.
"I didn't love her in the end."
