What's this? An update?

Luke's POV
It was the brisk breeze that woke me up in the morning. My body was stiff from sleeping on the ground, it creaked when I sat up slowly and stretched. The sun was only just rising and it shone directly in my eyes.

"Ow," I muttered as I stretched my back a little too much. I looked around, out of both curiosity and a need to get the stiffness out of my neck. Fury was already awake, half in her sleeping bag, her eyes fixed on where her feet would be and one hand absently stroking the sleeping Wolf's back. "Hey Fury," I said, quietly so as to not wake the others.

She jumped, almost waking up Wolf. She seemed scared for a moment, then her face went back to its usual 'my protective walls are up and you ain't getting past them' expression. "Hey," she said, her tone guarded like we hadn't met before.

I sighed to myself. She had gone into that kind of mood a few times since we had met her. Which wasn't all that long ago, now that I think about it. I stood up from my blanket, careful not to wake up Jade (he wasn't a morning person, I was). Fury watched me suspiciously as I belted on my sword.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"I'm gonna walk the stiffness out of my legs."

She gave me a hard look for a few moments then nodded slightly. "You wanna take Wolf?" she asked.

I tilted my head slightly to the side. I think that was the closest she had to 'Hey, we're friends and I trust you now'. But I shook my head. "Nah, wouldn't want to wake him up. I'll only be a few minutes."

"Good. I don't wanna go looking for you."

I gave her a grin that she didn't return and set off into the trees. I headed in a direction so that the sun was on my right. I think that's south. Wait, north. It's north, right? Either way, I headed in that direction. It was a great day for walking. No animals were awake yet, and we seemed to be far enough away from civilisation for there to be no monsters prowling the woods. The breeze was nice too, although it was starting to get a bit cold. I was regretting leaving my jacket in my sleeping bag.

So there I was, just walking along and minding my own business, when I found something that was definitely not supposed to be in a forest. Now you may be thinking "Really? Why do you think that?" Well, I don't know about you, but I've never yet found a glowing, enchanted diamond pickaxe and a map that had the precise location we were in and a red line drawn from where we were to another place on the map. Maybe your experience of forests is different to mine.

Don't be stupid, of course I checked form traps, I'm not an idiot no matter how much I act like I am. When I was 83% certain that it was 100% safe, I walked up to it and picked up the pickaxe in one hand. It had been wedged in the ground, one head pinning the map to the ground. I very carefully took the map off the head so that I didn't rip it. Words were engraved on the side of the pickaxe that said "Silk Touch 2".

"As in, stronger than Silk Touch one?" I asked myself jokingly. Then I realised what I had just said. "No freaking way. That's totally coincidence. It's gotta be...... Nah, it's totally not." But I didn't care. I felt jittery and jumpy and I ran south back to our little camp-tent thing. Or was it north? I don't know and I don't care, I ran in the direction so that the rising sun was on my left, alright? Quit hassling me.

Either way, most of my friends were awake when I ran in on them, half yelling "Where the heck is Alex, I think I solved our problem!"

"Well that's a first," my twin muttered, obviously having just woken up. I gave him a wonky grin and waggled the pickaxe a little in my hand.
