*deep breath* WOLF, STOP CHANGING WHICH TYPE OF ARMOUR YOU'RE WEARING.
3rd person POV
As Alex toppled over the edge of the island, disappearing into the void, his friends could do nothing but watch. None of them were close enough to help in time, and there were scores of endermen simply wandering around who would become extremely aggressive if they were pushed aside. There was only one who stood a chance. As he ran forward, his eyes fixed on Fury's second sword lying on the ground, he saw the boy step back and lose his balance. He saw the Dragon swoop down, meaning to push the boy back and make him fall. Instantly, he ran past the sword and to the boy. His master had told him to fetch. So fetch he would. He bounded over to the boy just as the boy's feet left the ground and he fastened his teeth into the closest body part available. He pushed his four paws into the ground, bracing himself so that he wouldn't be dragged over too as he held the full weight of the boy's body.
Up on the pillar, Luke had dropped the pickaxe and had been covering his eyes as the Dragon swooped down, blocking Alex from their view. Jade had shut his eyes for a second, but they had flashed open when he heard Alex's sudden yell. He shook Luke's arm.
"Luke! It's okay! He's alive!" Jade babbled, shaking Luke.
Luke peeked through his fingers and sighed with relief. The small white body of Wolf could only just be seen against the yellow stone as he braced himself, his mouth around what appeared to be Alex's ankle. Jade shook Luke's arm again as if waking them both up.
"We need to hurry up and get this Ender Crystal so that we can get rid of the Dragon," he said quickly.
The younger twin nodded and picked up the pickaxe again, continuing to break the base of the Ender Crystal. It was almost broken now and the purple sphere didn't cast out any light. Down below, Fury, Zip and Tim were running to where Wolf was struggling to pull Alex back up onto the island. Tim of course, reached him first and easily pulled the small boy up to safety.
"Are you okay?" he asked instantly.
"No," Alex muttered through clenched teeth. His ankle was bloody from Wolf's teeth and he couldn't put any weight on it, but hey, he was alive.
Fury was kneeling next to Wolf, rubbing his head and watching the sky. Wolf was looking very pleased with himself in his diamond chest piece and his tongue was hanging out of his mouth.
"The Dragon's coming back," Fury said, standing up. "We should move away from the edge, towards the middle of the island."
"No arguments from me," Alex muttered. Tim and Zip helped him limp his way towards the black fountain structure that stood in the centre. The Dragon was still flying around, gaining health from the last few Ender Crystals that still stood at the tops of the pillars.
"We need to kill that thing and get out of here," Fury said, still watching the Dragon.
"Only problem. As soon as we kill it, the endermen will most likely become mad and attack us. And I do not fancy being killed by a hundred of them."
"You're full of bright and cheery news, aren't you Alex?" Tim said.
Alex only shrugged.
"Either way, we need to wait until Luke and Jade have the Ender Crystal before we can do anything," Zip pointed out. "And we need to get rid of those other Crystals. Alex, could I borrow your bow to get rid of them?"
Alex shook his head. "I dropped it when I was falling back, it must have-"
Woof!
Wolf had run back to the edge of the island and was trotting back, a bent and glowing piece of wood held in his mouth.
