So, as I said, Solemn itself is just a huge maze. It is dark and damp, hidden behing forests and overgrown roots. Its inhabitants (my subjects) live within the walls of the maze, in cracks and hidden doors and under the paths themselves. Many people come through my maze but very few people ever realise we are here, hidden behind an invisible sheild of moss and leaves.

I enjoy walking through the maze at night, when the moon is full and the night owls perch on our walls. You can see the stars through the thorns and trees and you can see the highest hills peeking over the bricks and hedgerows. This is the only time that I can feel safe, at night when I escape the palace and run free .

My life inside the palace is that of a prisoner, not a princess, I have lived my whole life inside that prison and i don't intend for it to stay that way. One day I will escape from my uncle, King Macras, and find the human world.

I didn't mention that did I? I'm not normal, well i'm normal in Solemn but i'm not normal as in human. The people of solemn each have their own special powers, my uncle has the power to control minds, the power to control people to get them to do what he wants. I can control nature. I can bring trees to life with the slightest touch and can control roots and vines with my mind.

You may have heard of my mother, Mother Nature. My father told me that I get my beauty and powers from her. I have chestnut brown naturally wavy hair, and deep marine blue eyes. My skin is as white as snow and my lips are an unaturally, blood red. My father was the once the King of Solemn, his power was the ocean. He could control the water, the rain and as it is mainly made up of water, blood.

It seemed many years ago, centuries, that we owned most of the land. We cherished it, we cared for it and its people, the land was a part of our family as were our people. That was before the humans had captured my mother, she was some sort of God to them, and our lands began to fall apart. Slowley the grass began to die, the land rotting. Without Mother my Father had succumed to depression. He was no longer fit to be the king; that's when my uncle took the throne. That's when everything became worse.
