Today is the day when Leavitt's manor is going to get one more person to take care of. Malka is her name. Elizabeth's cousin from Riverbrook. Elizabeth talks about her all the time. No mater what I did, I was always compared with Malka.
But she will come on a dinner, not earlier. So I have a whole day before she comes. I opened the book from library and started to read.
-If you are human, then you don't have one special power that all other creatures have. They can see if you are a human or vampire or anything else. This spell will give you possibility to do that. And you don't have to carry a stone or a piece of paper with you all the time. All you have to do is to put your hand on these runes on the next page and say the words above. After that you will forever be able to recognize creatures. If you meet a vampire, you will know it. You will be able to see a creatures name above his/her head.....
There's a very complicated rune on the next page. I didn't want to disturb privacy of other creatures, but I wanted to know. I wanted to have this power.
I putted my hand on the drawing and looked at the runes. There wasn't translation how read these. I could see that those are old German runes, probably Elder Futhark.
-Well...this one is going to count on my luck.
I said looking at the text.

Nothing. First few moments passed in complete silence, but then an orb of shining black light formed above my hand and traveled to my head. My eyes ached for a few seconds and then orb went back to the book. Constant pain in my eyes reminded me of my spell. I went to the bathroom to check my eyes and then I almost fainted. My black eyes were now white. They looked like the little moons were in them.

I whispered to myself and ran to my room. I looked at the book like she can feel guilty and then I saw it. On the bottom of the page with rune.
WARNING! This spell might change your eye or hair color to white!!!!
-I'm going to kill myself.
The rest of the day I spent in my room, trying to somehow, find an excuse for this. I had nothing. How to explain eye color change? Maybe they have seen it before and they can help. But my mum! She will kill me! Hex me!

-Hey...Y/N....It's Elizabeth. Can we talk?
We didn't talk since my fight with her. Maybe she wont notice.
-Roxie is coming too....she is trying to convince her mum to sleep over at my place.
-Wait a second Elizabeth. I'll be back!
I said and took book and rune stones and hid them under the pillow. They know that I practice magic, but they don't know that I can do anything. If Elizabeth sees the book, she will kill me. I practically stole it.
-Hey Elizabeth...come in.
I said looking at the floor. I'll try not to look at her while we talk... or to the rest of my life!
-I wanted to talk about our fight. But I'll wait for Roxie. She wants to tell you something too.
-Okay. Just tell her to hurry up. I have to prepare for dinner.
-Oh right! Malka is coming tonight! You'll like her. She is very special one.
