Let Me Breathe (Poem)

Let Me Breathe

Let me breathe

And let me be me.

Let me breathe

And let the birds sing.

You’ll find out the truth if you let me breathe

And just believe in me.

Let me breathe

And I’ll stop running.

Let me breathe

And you’ll understand me more.

Can’t take the feeling anymore?

Let me breathe so you can see me.

The real me.

Not some girl off the show Glee.

I can’t act, only if needed

Or if someone has pleaded.

Can’t stand being tied in the ropes,

Which is suddenly making me lose hope.

Give me space

To stop and think.

Give me room to fix mistakes

That were caused by all these earthquakes.

Allow me to fix the broken pieces

Maybe even my loved ones diseases.

This poem may make no sense,

But find out the meaning through its denseness.

I’ll stop and look at you,

Watching the sky turn blue.

If you just let me breathe.

Let me breathe,

Then you’ll see.

What the whole world means to me.

Just one thing,

Let me breathe.
