Vicky slouched slightly in one of the visitor chairs in Principal Murphy's office. It was quiet as Vice Principal Tanner glared frustratingly at the student whose been in this room enough times for it to be considered her second home."Can I leave now?" Vicky questioned aggravatedly; her arms crossed securely over her chest.
Tanner placed his hands on his hips sternly, cause the bottom of his gray blazer to be pushed back a little. "What do you think the answer to that is, Miss?"
Vicky sat up a little in the uncomfortable chair and pressed her lightly balmed lips into a line.
"Yes?"
Tanner had opened his mouth to refute her snarky comment, but Vicky was saved by the opening of the heavy, wooden door behind her.
In walked a thin woman with her dirty blonde hair cut into a bob. The black pencil skirt and matching blazer she wore would make you mistake her for a strong business woman, but instead, it was only the amazing Principal Murphy.
"Oh!" Murphy sighed from the surprise she felt when she noticed the two people waiting for her in her office. "You two scared the life out of me!"
The bubbly woman smiled at Vicky; glad to see a face that was common in her office.
"Victoria," Murphy exhaled, "it's nice to see you... but what exactly are you doing here?"
Vicky's small smiled became a sarcastic grin as she looked up at Tanner, who now had his arms tightly crossed over his chest.
"This girl," he scoffed, "has brought a hammer to school, again, and broke her lock to get in."
Principal Murphy's face went from worried curiosity to a look of relief. "Is that it, Mister Tanner?... because if it is, then it's really no big deal."
Principal Murphy was hands-down the coolest principal Vicky had ever had. By the end of the girl's freshman year, Murphy had given only a few detentions before she finally realized that she couldn't stop Vicky from bringing her hammer to school, mainly because Vicky was actually the smartest student in the school, so she ultimately stopped trying. Unlike Vice Principal Tanner.
Murphy turned towards Vicky and smiled once again; a smile that was sweet. "The bell for first period already rang. I'll write you a pass and you get yourself to class."
Vicky nodded with satisfaction as the woman crossed the small room and pulled out a pen and a thin stack of blue sticky notes from her desk drawer, and began to scribble on it quickly. Murphy still smiled as she peeled the sticky paper from the stack and handed it to Vicky.
"Get to class quickly, now. Sorry for wasting your time, love," the woman beamed.
Vicky grinned, slipping her sunglasses back up the bridge of her nose, before exiting Murphy's office with a sly smirk.
