My waking wasn't a pleasant one. My head ached, and my back was stiff. Of course, the bed was plush, so not uncomfortable, but it felt as if I had been thrown out of a carriage and had rolled down a hill, hitting my head on tree and shrubbery on the way down.
I groaned as I sat up, looking around. We were in a dark cavern looking place, with candles lit all around me. I heard quiet piano music playing, and I smiled to myself. I always liked the sound of piano. To my left, I felt the mattress dip down and I gazed over. There was Gustave, laying right next to me.
I shrieked, and jumped out of the bed, checking myself over. I was in the same clothes that I had been last night. I sent a glare over to Gustave.
"Why were you in the same bed as me?" I questioned, and he smirked.
"When I brought you in you wouldn't release the grasp on my arm and around my neck. I thought it better that instead of me waking you up, I would just lay with you." he explained, and I scoffed.
"We wouldn't have this problem if you didn't kidnap me." I muttered.
"We wouldn't have this problem if you were to have just come with me instead of letting that stupid boy fight me for your hand." He countered.
"Now, now, Gustave. That isn't any way to treat a lady." I heard a voice from my side. I looked over and saw Erik standing there, in burgundy robes and his white mask.
I didn't know if the sense of relief I felt when I saw him was right to feel, or if I should feel angry that he actually did kidnap me.
"Sorry, father." Gustave said, turning away from me and bowing his head.
"Now leave us, Gustave, we have some work to attend to." Gustave nodded, turning and walking out the door, only offering a small glance back at me as he left.
