I frowned as my father talked to this...woman. If you could even call her that. She was evil; I hated her. She was ripping my father and I apart. Ever since my mother died, and my father met this woman, my life has gotten worse. I wanted my mother back, but that would never happen. She was dead; killed by a gunshot wound in her abdomen.Everyone was telling me that she was in Heaven singing with her angel and with my grandfather, but how am I supposed to believe that? Mother never talked about angels and her father...
I miss her. I grab my cape and go to the door to our house. Father doesn't even try to stop me, and that saddens me. What would nother have done in this scenario? She probably would have came with me, as she didn't like me going out on my own.
I hopped onto my horse and grabbed a white rose with a red ribbon tied to it. I started to ride to the cemetery.
"You were once my companion you were all that mattered..." I started, just reaching the cemetery. I got off my horse, and I felt like I was being watched.
I walked to my mother's gravestone and there was a rose there... a red one with black ribbon tied around it. I left it there, for the person who left it must have been an acquaintance of my mother.
I placed my rose opposite of that one, and started to speak with my mother.
"You must know what is going on at home, mother. You always told me that you would watch my and guard me even after you died. Do you even remember saying that?" I asked her, looking around for a sign that she was listening. Nothing.
I looked down again.
"Father has already found another to be married to... she is not nice to me. I wish you were still here with me mother... but you will never be.
"I dream of you as if you were really here... and it seems like you are for a few moments." I told her, and I laughed at myself.
"Sometimes I actually run down the stairs ready for you to be there when I get into the front room... but you aren't." I tell her, then felt a breeze of cold wind hit me. I shivered and pulled it closer to me.
"Everybody tells me how beautiful your voice was... I miss hearing it. I know I'll never hear it again... As I dream I still know that isn't going to help me... But it helps me now." I looked up in the sky. It was getting dark, and I needed to get home.
But what if I didn't go home? Would father be mad, or would he notice at all?
I sneezed. I should probably get out of this weather, or I might get a cold. I wouldn't want that...
Standing, I looked down at my mother's grave. A cold gust of wind blew over me, and I started to walk to my horse, but I couldn't find her. She usually doesn't run back home... Unless she was frightened by something. But I have no way of getting back home.
I looked around and checked my pockets. I had no money with me currently, so I couldn't pay for a ride home.
I will surely get sick if I stay out here by myself. What can I do except walk home?
Starting to walk, I watch where I step, in order not to slip on ice.
"Miss," I heard a voice say, and I turned around. There was a male with a black tux on and a mask on. He had black hair and beautiful golden colored eyes. "I might not be a doctor, but I am sure that nobody should be walking around at this time of day, when it is so cold out."
I bowed my head.
"I am sorry monsieur, my horse has ran away and I have no other choice." I told him, and he looked at me with pity.
"If you would not mind, I can take you to your house. Just get in." He told me, and I weighed my options.
I got in, then asked him, "Monsieur, what is your name?"
He was quiet for a moment, then spoke:
"My name is Erik, Angel."
