We didn’t really do anything. All we did was run some errands for makeup. As we were pulling up to the school to pick up my brother I texted my closest friends, “Meet me outside the welcome center so I can say goodbye” we then get out of the car and walk up to the school. As I’m walking up I can already see my friends Evan, Hunter, and Robert. When I get up there they give me hugs and Robert and Hunter say goodbye. When Evan gave me a hug he whispered in my ear, “I’ll miss you, Cat. You’re a great friend I’ll never forget. I’ll miss you.” When he pulls away we both have tears in our eyes and I reply, “I’ll miss you too, Evan.” We give each other one last hug and he walks off.

Then Victoria comes running out of the school being dramatic as usual and yells at the top of her lungs, “CATHERINE GRACE MCCARTER I WILL MISS YOU SOOO MUCH YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”  She came running up to me and jumped on me attempting to give me a big hug but instead ended up knocking me down.

Everyone is now staring at us. Victoria stands up and takes a bow. She crazy. I love her, but she crazy.

Victoria says, “OMG, Cat I’m gonna miss you so much you’re like my best friend in the whole big giant wide world.”  We hear her mom call her and Victoria says, “I have soccer practice so I have to go but don’t forget me. I love you, chica.”

I reply, “Love you too, Victoria.”We give each other another hug and she walks off.

Just then Diana and Daisy walk up. Diana says, “Okay. I wrote you a poem for you because you know we always write poems together so here I go.

I’m glad you became one of my best buddies

But the fact you’re moving is really cruddy

I hope we can still stay in touch

So we can talk about Once Upon a Time and such

“I remember” when we knew our friendship was true

You stalk the Hunger Games cast, too?

We have so many memories from going up the tube

All the way to ‘Do you want a sugar cube?’

Now promise me you won’t cry

Not in front of me and you know why

Don’t get upset or let your spirit tire

I’ll always remember you my Girl on Fire”

I stood there for a moment because I couldn’t believe she had actually written me a poem but when it finally sunk in I said, “I know you said not to cry but…….”

And I started crying. Then we all got in one big hug and we all were sobbing. We probably look really pathetic. We said our final goodbyes, shed a few more tears, and parted ways.
