Pan awoke with her body cuddled into his. Her soft breathing assured him that she was not yet awake. Melody's limbs were tangled with his, and he feared moving would wake her.
Instead, he looked down at her sleeping face, long eyelashes making shadows on her cheeks. Her lips slightly parted, chest slowly rising and falling. The silk strands of hair stroking her bare shoulders and back. Slender arms unconsciously wrapped around his waist, and delicate legs between his knees. Melody's head resting on his bicep, her petite nose almost touching his chest.
She looked so perfect; so fragile and porcelain. However, she was much more than that. She was his, and the thought never ceased to please him. Her body fit so perfectly cocooned by his. Mine. His soul claimed with a fierce hunger. Only mine. Without thinking, he drew circles along her shoulder blades with his fingers.
Melody stirred, but stayed sleeping. She sighed, relaxing into him more, nuzzling against his chest subconsciously. Her body shivered. Maybe she was cold? Or perhaps she was dreaming of something?
Carefully, he removed himself from her, feeling a loss somewhere inside him. Silently, he went back up to the library. The pages crackled under his fingers as he pulled the letters out with a smile. He looked over the one that was his favorite. The one she wrote before her ship was swallowed.
Brother,
Perhaps you will never have the chance to read this, I'm pretty sure you're not out there anymore. None of that matters now though. We've just entered a massive storm, and the captain's false bravado is getting us nowhere. I feel like I'm going to be okay though. Don't ask me why, but I just feel like I'll be safe, even if I don't make it through this breathing.
There's a soft voice talking to me. It's telling me that I'm going to be alright. I've seen something just below the crashing waves. A beautiful creature, truly. Long and lean, with dark hair and a long tail. A beautiful voice he wields, as well as a grand weapon it is. Don't worry about me, I'm not scared. In fact, maybe this means I'll get to see you soon. Just in case, I thought I would just say, "I love you, big brother!"
Sincerely,
Melody
A beautiful creature, huh? Pan laughed to himself. Hilarious.
He looked at the shelves after replacing the collection into its holding place. Pulling the worn copy of The History of Alantancia, he flipped to the page with her picture. The name Cyrus P. Vinther was written clearly in bold script under sire.
Pan flipped the pages till he reached the profile on Cyrus.
Name: Cyrus P. Vinther.
Sire: Merna Horvenbloom
Nothing else of any importance charted. His creation, Melody, however was among the list of things that defined him. Not much of a picture though, having moved around the ocean quite a bit in the past few centuries. No mystical book had record of him for very long. He was a hard one to track down, for sure.
A stirring in Pan's mind alerted him to Melody's awakening. Quickly, he put the book back on the shelf and hurried down to the bottom floor again. "Melody," he whispered, aware that it was very early in the morning, "Are you awake?"
She rubbed her eyes, "Pan?" she sat up slowly, "Good morning," she yawned, "If it is morning."
Pan chuckled, "Yes. It's time to go if you are ready," he lifted an eyebrow, "Are you ready to go?"
She thought for a moment, then rushed away. Pan furrowed his eyebrows, starting after her until she reappeared with a small pack and her tail formed. "Yes. Let's go, before anybody else wakes up."
