Over the past Two months, we had been rebuilding Alexandria and even expanded to be made bigger. We were even allowed houses in families. I was living with Glenn and Maggie even Enid. All the residents were pitching in and helping us. We were all starting to work together as a group. We had done so much work since the walkers broke in the walls.
Maggie and I were taking a break in our construction work and went for a little walk to see how others were doing with their work.
We found Enid alone and I nudged Maggie forward to go talk to her. Over the past Two months, we had become really close. Her and Maggie were close too and she saw her more like a mother figure which is why I thought it was easier for Maggie to talk to her. If that didn't work, I would talk to her.
"Hey." Maggie said and Enid turned to us in shock.
"Hi." She replied.
"Are you okay?" She asked and sat next to her. I sat on the other side of her.
"I'm fine. I'm just taking a break." She explained.
"What type of work do they have you doing?" I asked her.
"I'm not doing anything, I've refused everything they've tried to get me to do. I don't want to do anything." Enid told us and I sighed and looked over her head at Maggie.
"You need to pitch in. It'll make Alexandria safe again. Get this place back on track for us to live safely again." Maggie encouraged.
"Come on Enid. You can help us." I said.
"Yeah and you know that if you need to talk. You can come find me." Maggie smiled and stood up. She pulled me up and we left Enid alone to her own thoughts.
I went to find Glenn over by the wall that they were knocking down. "Hey, fancy going out hunting?" I said and he nodded and followed me out into the woods.
"Are you okay? Is there anything you want to talk about?" Glenn asked.
"I'm fine Glenn I promise. I just don't know what I can do inside the walls. Everyone is their job and I've finished mine. I'm just getting bored." I told him but before he could reply, there were shouts from just ahead. We went to investigated and saw a women tied to tree.
"Are you okay?" I asked her as Glenn untied her.
"I've been here for so long,I'm so hungry and thirsty." She cried.
"I have some water in my bag." I bent down to get the water out of the backpack I dropped onto to have the women scream and throw herself at me.
I groaned as she slapped me clipping me with a knife. I tried to push her off but she was too strong. It was only when Glenn hit her in the head that she went limp and I was able to push her off me. Glenn hadn't killed her. Just knocked her out. I pulled out my fun and shot her in the head. I was y changing letting her do this to someone else and succeeding.
"I guess we can't trust anyone anymore." I gasped and he helped me up.
