Luke's POV

I fell asleep with Ashton in my arms during the movie and we slept until the next morning. Michael kept trying to ask me what I was up to but I didn't answer. Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing right now or why. I'm starting to develop feelings towards Ashton and he might not even be gay! I need to figure out a way to stay as far away from him as possible and quick.

But there's one tiny problem...

I don't want to.

~

After I showered and got dressed I went downstairs to the basement for our first rehearsal with Ashton in the band. I was a bit nervous for Ashton to hear me sing but I shook it off, he'll probably be too caught up in his drums to notice if I mess up.

When I reached the end of the stairs I saw the other 3 waiting for me impatiently. Well actually only Michael seemed irritated, Ashton and Calum were fooling around and being quite loud to be honest. They seemed to be having a great time bantering with each other. What if Ashton likes Calum instead of me? Calum is as straight as a ruler but it's still a possibility.

I pushed these thoughts to the back of my mind and grabbed my guitar. "You guys ready to play?" This caused Ashton and Calum to stop hitting Michael with pillows and instead run to their instruments.

We played for about 2 hours with a mix of original songs and covers. It was a rather enjoyable practice especially with Ashton always asking me for help. He was becoming less scared of me and that made me incredibly happy though I didn't want the other boys to get the wrong idea. Just because I was being kind to Ashton didn't mean I was opening up anytime soon. I had to distance myself from Ashton emotionally but that didn't mean we couldn't have fun once in a while.

Regardless of my fear to become close to people again I decided I wanted to get to know Ashton better so after we finished practicing I asked him to go to lunch with me. No, not like a date but I really wish it was one. Michael and Calum asked to come along but once I reminded them there's pizza in the fridge they changed their minds.

The ride to lunch was a bit awkward since Ashton and I are barely friends yet but the music coming from the radio helped a bit. We chatted for a few minutes about some recent news in the music industry before he parked the car. I followed behind him into the restaurant and we got led to a table right away because there were only a few people eating. As I looked over the menu Ashton began to question me about basically everything.

"Why did you invite me here? I thought you hated me."

"I want to get to know you better."

"What changed your mind? The other day you wanted to punch me in the face!"

"You're different than I expected."

"What did you expect?"

"For you to not ask so many questions! We're here so I can learn about you, you're the new kid." Ashton finally shut up with his annoying questions and bit his lip, looking down at the menu.

"What do you want to know? I'm not an interesting person. I like the drums and music, that's all." He seemed kind of embarrassed, I guess he doesn't like the attention on him.

"What about movies? Books? Sports?"

"Um... I love to watch movies, anything but horror. I don't read much but I do enjoy it at times. I'm complete crap at sports, always have been. Is that enough?" It seemed like Ashton was becoming annoyed with my questions so I ignored my curiosity and told the waitress my order. Ashton did the same and once she left I was bombarded with questions once again.

"Now it's your turn. Tell me why you're so secluded from everyone."
