Emily Cross was the new girl at school. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, an amazing smile and she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen. She was a shy girl, who didn't talk at all for her first couple of weeks at school. One day, I decided I had the guts to talk to her. I walked up to Emily at interval and said, "Hi Emily. My name is Lana. Do you wanna hang out together?"
She looked at me and smiled. "Of course I will! You're the only one who has talked to me since I got here."
We walked over to the benches and started to talk. I learned that she came to New Zealand because her dad got a job over here. She's an Australian and she came from Perth.
But that wasn't the day I fell for her. I fell for her the day she got her first boyfriend. A guy by the name of Luke. Luke was one of the most popular guys in school and he had been crushing on Emily since the day she arrived. I found out when I received an IM from Emily.
EmilyGoesRAWR: OMG. I just got asked out by the one and only, Luke Underwood! And I said yes!
LanaLovesYou: Cool.. umm.. I'll talk to you at school..
EmilyGoesRAWR: Are you okay? You're acting kinda weird..
I logged off. I had a mixture of pain and jealousy swelling up inside me. I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't talk to Emily seeing as I was jealous... But I had never felt that way before. I felt like crying and laughing at the same time.
I thought to myself, What is WRONG with me!? I should be happy for her!
