I woke up the next morning with a knot in my stomach. I had to admit everything to Emily.
No turning back now I thought as I got out of bed. I ran through my head what I wanted to say. I ran it through my head while I ate breakfast and while I walked to school. I had it memorised by the time I arrived at school.
I saw Emily and said, "I need to talk to you. In private".
We walked around behind the classrooms and she smiled at me and said, "Yeah?"
God. I nearly melted when she smiled just then.
"Uh. Well. I'm sorry I've been acting so weird since you and Luke started dating. The truth is... I'm jealous. I'm sorry I ignored some of your texts and avoided questions. I... I think I'm in love with--"
"With Luke? Why didn't you tell me!? I wouldn't have dated him if you had told me".
"Not with Luke. I think I'm in love with you".
I kissed her. On the lips. I felt as if fireworks were going off in my stomach. I never wanted that moment to end. I was interruped by Emily pushing me away.
"You FREAK!" she yelled at me, "What kind of sick joke are you playing!?"
"Em. I'm not joking.."
"Whatever you FAG. Wait until the rest of the SCHOOL finds out. You're a fucken freak. Don't ever kiss me or touch me or talk to me EVER again. I don't want anything to do with you".
She punched me in the gut and ran off yelling, " LANA IS A LESBIAN, LANA IS A LESBIAN!"
I slumped onto the ground and my eyes started to water. I said to myself, "Lana you stupid idiot. Your a fucken freak like Emily said. You fucken i.d.i.o.t."
I couldn't wait for today to end.
