Try to breath...

Alice was my best friend, but she is always delivering bad news, such as kidnappers.  In a way I was glad her mother came to pick her up, Alice was starting to freaking me out.  She was my best friend, but just a little creepy.  Sadly, there was nobody else waiting for their parents now.  I was alone.  I was used to this by now, I've always know that my mother is not the most punctual person. This was nothing out of the ordinary. I took out my summer homework for the year and started to answer the questions that had been typed on pieces of paper. "These trees could have been used for so many better things than a few simple equations and Text Dependent Analysis papers," I said to myself quietly as I quickly jotted down some answers. I had been ignoring the clouds that had been accumulating over my head until they started pouring cold, clear water over everything I could see.  I even heard thunder, I soon saw a flash of bright white light that I could only assume to be lightning.  I was already soaking wet by the time I had finished quickly stuffing my papers back into my backpack as I ran to the school doors, but they were locked. Then I saw her, Mrs. Bridge my strangely dressed world history teacher. She was standing inside and appeared to be laughing at my misery.  She always wore pink fluffy blouses and skinny jeans.  She was at least 60 years old, and had an annoyingly high pitched voice.  I was feeling hopeless. Where was my mom?  I knew my dad wouldn't pick me up because when I was about two years old he had abandoned us, with one mysterious note.  The note had read, "You'll see me when the time comes."  I had literally no clue when the time would be, but I never let it bother me.  All that bothered me right now was the fact that my mother's cheerful face and car probably weren't going to be here any time soon. I started to worry.  The time that my phone flashed was 3:02, school had let out at 2:15. This had never happened before, She had ever been this late before. Was she all right?  I called my mother three times.  There was no answer each time. The time was now 3:16. I didn't know what to do, so I called Alice on her phone.  She did not answer me either.  I called two of my other friends, Molly and Amber.  They didn't answer either.  Well, Molly did. She couldn't pick me up, though, because her parents wouldn't dive her here, and, of course, being only twelve years old, she had no car of her own.  Molly is extremely sensitive and felt very bad. I had decided to call Luke to see if he could pick me up. He answered.
