Maka P.O.V
We were back in the DWMA. Everything had been repaired under Kid's supervision. It was all falling together. Normal. Right? I run up the stairs. Another year. Another try. Soul's gonna become a death scythe this year. I promised myself.
Then he might not even stay with you. I push the thought away. We'll both be fine. We're partners. I reach the top of the stairs and look down. Our new roomate Crona was only half way up.
"Why did Kid have to make the stairs so long?" he shouted up. I laugh and wait for him; when he reaches the top he's out of breath. I hold out my hand and we look at the newly reborn Death City.
"It's---"
"Beautiful" Someone says from behind me. I know the voice well. I hear it everyday. Soul. I smile.
"You're right." Crona says. We walk off to Proffesor. Steins Class. Together. Our own little family.

Soul's P.O.V
We enter the class room. A blast of formaldehyde practically swipes me off my feet.
"Looks like we're doing another dissection." I say. Maka and Crona both frown in detest.
I walk up to our seats. Tsubaki sit's nearby, but Black Star is nowhere to be found.
"Tsubaki, where's Black Star?" Maka asks
"He stayed home sick. Some kind of stomach flu" Tsubaki replies with a worried voice. Stomach flu? Black Star wouldn't stay home for that. What's really going on?
"Sure, whatever." I commented. Stein greeted the class and took out a fried cat.
"We'll be dissecting this creature today." The smell was horendous a few students had to leave it was that overwhelming. In those students was Maka. Maka? She wouldn't get sick from that...
"Stein" I said. He nodded and gestured for the door. He must have seen Maka walk out. I ran out of the class room, no Maka. I searched everywhere. Even the library. What about the roof? I sprinted up flights of stairs and eventually reached the top. I opened the door to the roof. There she sat. Cross legged, with that sad look in her eyes. She was huddled into a ball. Compressed into her smallest form. She seemed so tiny, the smaller she got the less she would exist. I wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. She just looked so frail. I couldn't even think of a rude comment to get her rialed up. I walked up to her and sat right on the railing. Right next to her. Right on the foot of the world.
"What's going on Maka?" I asked quitely. A single tear streamed down her face.
