Resurgent (Alternate Allegiant Ending)

The Talk

Okay— I'm not sure if this is gonna be long or short so bare with me!

TRIS POV:
I get up and race Tobias to the door. I win of course.

"Hey Shauna! And Zeke and Uriah! And Marlene!" I pause. "And Christina?"

I question it and look at Tobias, who has a completely shocked face.

"Okay- question." I start but get interrupted.
"Answer!" Uriah smirks as he says it.

I roll my eyes and say, " How are we gonna get these to the next house? WITHOUT breaking these!"

I see a few people shrug and I get out of there way so they are inside the house now. Someone grabs my arm and brings me around the corner.

"Hey! Oh hey Chris." I say plainly.

"Listen Tris, I'm so sorry that I overreacted with Will. I- I don't know what went on with me." I interrupt her, "it's fine Chris-"

"No it's not! I was being very rude and selfish, gosh how did you live in Abnegation!" I laugh when she says that.

"It's fine I promise! Just come in and help me out please!" I say sarcastically. She rolls her eyes, "Fine."

I go in after a few minutes. I feel really nauseous and run to the bathroom. Shauna sees and follows in after me.

I start to puke when she comes in and closes the door. She pulls my hair back for me.

"Thanks!" I say after puking up strawberries.

"Ew." I say.

"Tris? Are you okay? Have you been doing this a lot! Are you eating healthy" she asks.

I grunt but say, "Yes."

"Tris... are you..." She pauses. "Pregnant?"

"Pregnant? I don't think so! This is the first time I've-" more puking. "Barfed."

"I'll buy you a test just go with me so it's not suspicious." Shauna says.

"Thanks Shauna! And I think I'm done now. I hope." I wipe my mouth and head out the door.

Shauna follows.

"Where are you two going?" Tobias asks.

"We are getting... pizza for us!" Shauna says excitedly.

"Yea pizza!" I say.

"Okay! Sweet!"

TOBIAS POV:

"Pizza? Didn't we like just eat?" I ask.

"Yea, like 4 hours ago! It's 7:30!" Zeke says laughing at me.

"Oh."

We tape up the last few boxes and put them in a pile.

"So... how are we going to do this? None of us have cars" Zeke says.

"Maybe none of you BOYS have a car." She starts but she scared me because I forgot she was here, " I do!"

"Omg really Mar! How come I didn't know about this?" Uriah says excitedly but confused.

She shrugs but takes the keys and walks out of the door.

Tris and Shauna come in with 3 boxes of pizza- pepperoni, cheese, and pineapple ham.

I pick up the pepperoni. Uriah takes cheese and so does Shauna. Tris takes ham and pineapple.

Marlene walks back up here and scares Zeke so he drops the slice he was trying to pick up. Marlene picks it up off the floor and puts it on Zekes plate.

He shrugs. Then stuffs it into his face.

"Ew!" Tris says looking at Zeke.

"What? He says, pizza sauce dripping off his face.

She rolls her eyes. Weird. She's acting different.

"I'll be right back. I have to go to the bathroom!" She says, trotting towards the bathroom.

"I wish we had more cheese pizza!" Uriah says after eating 7 slices.

"Omg! Stop eating so much!" Shauna yells.

Tris comes out of the bathroom with a blank expression on her face. When she notices Shauna's looking at her, she smiles.

TRIS POV:

I'm pregnant.

What will Tobias do? Will he leave me? Will he hurt me?

What will mom do? Dad?

I'm 17 and pregnant?!

I have a blank expression. But now all I can do is smile. Oh I hope it's a girl! 

I pick up a box and follow everyone down the elevator and out the door. I hope we aren't walking there! That would be harsh on the baby!

"Marlene has a car?!" I say, more questioning it than stating it.

"Yes I do!"

"Okay!"

Phew. That's a relief. We put all the boxes in, which is like 9 boxes, not to many, into the car and I hop into the car back.

But I'm just sitting there smiling like an idiot. Toby sits next to me squeezing my hand when he sits down.

I smile at him. But then worries come back. What if I have a miscarriage? What if he leaves me?

I put my head on his chest, relieving some of my worries. I squeeze his hand and mumble, "I love you."

"I love you, too."

I fall asleep like this. Very comfy. Very safe. When I'm not with him, I feel like I can't fight, but when I look into his eyes, I'm ready for war.

TOBIAS POV:

"Wakey wakey Trissy." I whisper into her ear. I can feel her smile on my chest.

"Can't I just stay like this!" She says squeezing my hand softly.

"I wish."

She's been very stressed and nervous lately. I hate to wake her up, she looks so peaceful when she's asleep.

She gets up and climbs out of the car.

I love her so much! I'm so happy we have a life together.

I grab a small box and hand it to her. She can barely hold it. I laugh.

"What! This box is like half the size of me!"

"Yeah! That's why I'm laughing!" I say picking up a bigger box and carrying into the house.  I place it on our soon to be living room floor.

I'm so excited! I feel like I can burst into flames!

We eventually get all the boxes out. Uriah and Zeke drive back to get our mattresses and bed set.

I'm so thankful to have these friends. Even though more of them are Tris' friends. I'm glad they take care of her no matter what.

Tris looks at me and moves some boxes into the- our room. She slides around on the hardwood floor. I slip and fall onto my knees.

She's laughing at me.

"Hey! Not everyone is so small and light like you!" I yell.

Christina didn't come with us to the new house.      I wonder why? Did her and Chris make up? I sure hope so.
