"Drop the paperwork." Avery walked over to my desk."No! Just let me do one or two more pages! Maybe six or seven even.." I wanted my work done.
"But, Alex.. you're on vacation! In just a few hours I have a short flight planned for us, the only work you should be doing now is packing.." Avery pointed over to the empty, peerless duffle bag I pulled from out of my room earlier.
"You haven't even showered yet, and you're still in pajamas. How have you managed to book a flight from the time you woke up to now?" I placed the remaining stack of paperwork in my folders.
"Well. I like your clothes. They're rather comfortable." Avery smiled. "Oh, and booking that flight? Rather simple actually. Just they way flights are usually booked."
"Anyways.. when is the flight?" I tapped my fingers on the desk, pulling out my cellphone.
"At exactly three this afternoon. I might have to stop by my house first on the way to the airport."
"Should I call Cole now then?"
"No, I already did. He cursed me out on the phone as well, but I got him to give you a paid week off."
"Avery, are you sure you're not wonder woman or something?"
"Only if you want me to be." She winked.
"That was so cheesy.. oh my goodness, but sure." I burst out laughing.
"I know it was. But I guess now the amazing, talented, and just straight up gorgeous Alexandra Davis has now deemed me, her personal superhero." Avery kissed my lips. I felt heat rise up to my cheeks, from her smooth articulation.
"But what if my hooded super hero gets stolen away by some next super hero that flies by her?"
"That next hero would have to be completely idiotic to think they could get away with that.

I watched as Avery neatly place the sketch I made earlier, in her bag. It looked almost like she was preserving a precious gem or something.
Once done, she placed it over her shoulder, along with putting loose fitting hood over her clothing, and a pair of thick glasses. "You ready?"
"Yeah.. but how long are we planning on going for? I only have about three days worth of clothes in here." I pointed to my boring, plain black, duffle bag.
"Four to five days, depending on what you'd prefer."
"Alright, I think I can spare buying a new t-shirt. If someone breaks into my house when we get back, I'm going to kill you."
"Yes, because that is very likely to happen." Avery rolled her eyes, opening the door, as I locked it behind us.
"I mean.. it could, you never know." Part of me, was seriously a little nervous about that.
Avery turned around, and studied me. Her blank facial expression gave it away.
"Checking me out?" I struck a quick pose.
"Huh? Oh.. no one's going to break into your house, alright? I'm also not forcing you to come with me.. I'm sorry if I made it seem that way."
That was.. said out of nowhere.
"I want to come with you, don't worry! I'd have to be insane if I declined."
"Okay, that's good." A smile returned on her face. She took my hand, leading me to her bike that had been chained down, from the previous night.
