Chapter 3

Alexis POV

I went home and went inside setting my bag down by the door like I always did. But something today was different I looked into the living room but dad wasent there anymore. I shrugged and went upstairs and sat on my bed and began listening to music on my phone when suddenly my door burst open and my dad walks in.

"Alexis! What the hell is wrong with you i fucking woke you up this mornin and you left without makin my damn food!" He yelled grabbing me by my hair and throwimg me onto the floor earning a yelp of pain from me. Once im on the floor he kicks me multiple time in my side causing me to cry out. He kicks me a few more times before he crouches beside me taking my throat in his hand and begining to squeeze. I could the life slipping from my body and blackness surrounding my vision until i pass out. The last thing i hear is dad saying hes going to kill me then a bunch of growling and and crashing before i completely lose consciousness.

Luke POV

I was walking home when i felt the pain in my head then my side.

"Our mate." Midnight says "shes being hurt."

"Yea she is" i say as midnight takes control causing me to shift and run to her house as fast as our paws will carry us. I burst through the door when i hear Alexis cry out in pain. I run up the stairs bursting through a door where i see a man choking my mate. Rage fills me as midnight takes full control i feel the mans head in my teeth as i rip his head off and rip him apart once hes dead i shift back to my human form carefully picking Alexis and taking her back to the pack house.

Alexis POV

"When will she wake up?" I heard a voice that sounded familiar.

"She should wake up soon Alpha Luke." Answered a female voice. Wait Alpha? What does that mean? I ask my self and then i move my head just alittle bit.

"Alexis?" I feel familiar tingles shoot up my arm and i know its Luke who takes my hand as i open my eyes.

"L-luke? Where am I?" I ask my voice scratchy qnd i remember why. My dad he said he was going to kill me. Why didnt he?

"Your at my house." Luke answers the questiin i forgot about.

"Where is my dad?"

"Your dad?"

"Yea my dad, he uh.." I place my hand on my throat.

"He was choking you, he is the one who has been hurting you." Luke says and i nod. I whatch as his eyes darken a bit.

"What happened to my dad?" I ask

"I dont know he was dead when i got to your house." He answers

"How did you know where i lived? No better question how did you know i was in danger?" I ask.

"Its his job to know." The voice in my head said. His job?

"I just knew ok can we just leave it at that for now?" He turns away and heads to the door "get some rest you need it" and at that he left the room. It dint take long before I drifted baxk off to sleep thinking about what Luke and my inner voice said 'its his job to know' 'i just did okay?'

Lukes POV

I turned to the doctor "shes not human is she?" I asked

"No shes not. She is a werewolf but you would think at seventeen she would've shifted by now." Dr. Emily the pack doctor said. "But im sure because of the constant abuse she has suffered from these last few years her wolf has stayed dormant trying to keep her alive. But now that she has met her mate im sure her wolf has awoken and and she should shift for the first time any day now."

"Yea." I said. Just thinking about what she has been through pisses me off so much

"Alpha?" I turn to see Lillian standing behind me with Markus next to her "hows Alexis?" She asks soundimg concerned

"Shes okay" i answer truthfully "alittle shaken up but other then that alright."

"Did she know who it was?" That was Markus.

"Yea she did" they look at me wanting to know who. "Her father" they look shocked

"Her father?!?" Lillian yelps "How could her dad do something like that?"

"I dont know but I will find out"

"Does she know you killed him?"

"No and she wont find out until I decide to tell her"

Alexis POV

My eyes fluttered open and I realize im in a huge room way bigger then mine. I sit up and stretch my sore muscles.

I got up out of the bed and looked in the mirror there was a bruise around my neck. I looked at my body i was still in the same clothes i was wearimg when dad attacked me. I sighed and decided i need a shower so i went to a door that was over by a dresser and went through and sure enough it was the bathroom i went in and stripped off my clothes before getting in the shower and washed up before getting out and walking back into the bedroom. I gasped when i saw Luke sitting on the bed i woke up in. His eyes traveled up and down by body his eyes darkening as they took in the cuts and bruises that covered my body around the towel. A soft growl like noise left his throat and i took a step back trying to cover my body more.

"Your father did all of that rro you?" He walked over taking my hand in his examining the bruises on my arm. All i could do was nod. Another growl left him. "Why didnt you tell me?" I just shrugged. About then Lillian walked in with some clothes

"Here Alexis I figured you might need these" she handed me the clothes.

"Thank you" I mumbled as a question popped into my head. "Lillian? What are you doing here?" She looked at me funny as i asked it

"Oh um i live here alot of us do. We will explain more later" she smiled and i was confused but nodded in agreement. Suddenly Lillian and Luke look at each other funny.

"We will be back in alittle while alright there is some food downstairs if you get hungry okay?" Luke asked me and i nodded as him and Lillian took off downstairs. I was utterly confused.
