Morning comes sooner than expected, as usual with these kinds of things, and I really dont feel like getting out of bed just yet. I lean over to glance at my clock, 6:00 am it reads, and I know I have to go. I take a deep breath and stretch as much as I can, then hesitantly, hoist myself off my bed.

I can already here Mom walking around in the kitchen, so begin to hurry. I grab as much as I can of whatever was left in my room. After all is done, I take one last look at my room. I'm really gonna miss this place, I think to myself, with a heavy sigh I head downstairs.

"Sweetheart there you are, all set?" "Yeah Mom, I'm ready," I reply as I set my bags on the bottom of the stairs. "Great then we better get going,"she smiles and heads out the door.

Just as we're loading our boxes into the car, Mom says she has to do one last check of the house, I decide to jump into the car. As I take one last look at the house, a few memories come flooding back to me, but I ignore them, because I don't feel like fighting any feelings right now. I turn on the radio, hoping to fill the silence. As I begin to search the stations, Mom comes back.

"Okay, we're all good to go," she hops in and squeezes my hand, as we begin to drive away. I gaze out the window, taking in the sights. Tall, picturesque, pine trees line the street, it's beautiful. But then I stop and turn to Mom,

"Remind me again where we're moving to?"
"Beacon Hills sweetie, she replies, "a little town out in California, you'll love it,"

Beacon Hills? Where the hell is that? I shrug, "Sure, if you say so."

A few hours later, we finally arrive to our new house. It's cute and small, looks like something out of a home magazine. Gravel crunches underneath the tires as we pull up in the driveway.

"You like it?" Mom says, her eyes looking for any sign of excitement on my face. "Yeah, it looks really nice," I answer with a small smile. "Great!" she squeals, "let's hurry in then. With that we jump out of the car and start unloading our boxes.

The cement walkway leads to the stairs of the house. An old, oak wood door stands at the entrance. Mom pulls out her keys, but struggles to find the right one with all the boxes in her arms. I take the keys from her, and open the door. I'm surprised it's not too bad. The entrance hall is pretty open and inviting. The living room seems very cozy. A fire place sits in the middle of the room and pillars stand at each side, enhancing the overall feel. Dust floats around and tickles my nose, meaning this house has been empty for awhile.

"Wow," Mom says, "looks like we got some work to do huh?" She gives me a look, and I can't help but laugh. "Yeah this is gonna be fun." I say sarcastically. We both laugh and begin unpacking our boxes.
