Chapter 11 - Little man
Jamie
Shoving my hand into my pocket, in searched for my key and sighed. As I pulled it out mum flung the door open and gave me a hard stare.
"What time do you call this?" She snapped.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "What? It's only one o, clock!"
"You know exactly why!"
"No... I don't..." I shook my head at her.
"You know, very well that at twelve today I had a meeting with my boss." She pointed her index at me accusingly.
"How was I supposed to know!" I exclaimed.
"I told you a couple of weeks ago and you should at least ask before you go out,"
"Excuse me?" I stared at her with an angry face, "First of all, how am I supposed to remember when you told me 'a couple of weeks ago'," My rant continued, "I asked you if I could stay over at Amy's house and you said yes. I shouldn't have to ask!"
"You should of, you should think about me more often other than yourself!" She retorted.
Oh, ok then.
"Huh? Really? You really went there?" I fumed, "I think about myself do I? Have you looked in the mirror recently mother? Because you don't seem to be acting like a mum. You work and work and work. All for yourself. Do you actually ever have time for me and Harry?"
"Yes!"
"You're having a laugh? Tell me the last time we all did something as a family," I asked.
She remained silence and let her eye sight fall to the floor.
"Exactly! You don't think of us, you don't care for us!"
"Why do you think I work! I work to keep him away from you," She snapped.
Shaking my head, I laughed, "I'm not going to let you use him as an excuse anymore,"
She opened her mouth to speak but Harry beat her to it, "What's going on?" He furrowed his eyebrows giving us a cute scowl.
Walking over to him, I picked him up and tapped his nose, "Nothing sweetie, but we're going to go out to the park!"
Like a light, his face lit up as he bounced up and down in my arms., "Really?! The park!"
And to think I thought he grew up, "Yep, go on, go get your shoes on," I placed him back on the ground and ruffled his hair. He ran into the closet and came out a couple of seconds later with his shoes on his feet sloppily.
"Get them on properly silly," I giggled.
"Yes Jamie," He frantically tied the laces on his shoes.
As soon as he was done, I lifted him up, grabbed my keys and opened the door. I turned around and said one last thing to my mum before leaving, "This should be you, not me,"
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I glanced around the park at the same time as Harry did. The grass was short and gave off a fresh cut smell. You know that smell? There were numerous play sets to go on, which Harry listed off for me:
"Lets go on the roundabout! Oh, oh, oh! No, lets go on the See-Saw. No, wait! Down the slide! But I kind of want to go on the rocking fish! No! Lets. Go. On. The Swings!" He squealed while running towards the red apparatus, "Push me, Jamie! Push me!"
