"Hey, lady, do you have a boyfriend?"
"Does it look like I have a boyfriend?"
"I mean, you're pretty, so I don't see why not."
"Nope."
"You are pretty, though."
"No, I'm not."
"You are!"
"No."
"You're beautiful!"
"Have you looked at me? I'm a stick-like creature! Me? Pretty? Not a chance."
"I didn't mean to make you mad."
"You don't mean to do a lot of things Michael."
She didn't mean to snap at him. It's just that when he mentioned boyfriend, old memories came rushing back.
She did have a boyfriend, before her brother died, before her life went haywire. He was a sweet one; Matt was his name. They used to have fun: hug, kiss, and laugh like normal couples did. When her brother died, a lot of things changed, including her relationship.
She became more closed off, flinching at the slightest touch, her mouth setting into a thin line as to keep her from talking. Matt got tired of her, of her attitude, and told her that he couldn't see her anymore. That he understood what she was going through, but that he had needs and she wasn't satisfying them.
It was then when she realized how much of a jerk Matt really was. He had used her when she was a fun-loving, carefree girl, but then decided to ditch her when she needed him the most. When she needed someone the most.
But no one was there to satisfy her needs.
