"You know what I'm thinking?"
"No."
"Okay. So I'm thinking that we should go to that Jason's party."
"Excuse me?"
"Everyone is going. So we should go too. I mean, we haven't been to any parties this year."
"Yeah, because I'm NOT a party girl. I don't go to those type of things. Especially not since...."
"Since what?"
"Never mind."
She hadn't been to a party, especially not since the death of her brother and her ex-boyfriend.
She was never a party girl. She was a shy girl-next-door type of girl. She never liked the loud music, flashing lights, and sweaty atmosphere. She had only gone a few times with her late brother; their parents wouldn't let him go without her. That was where she had met Matt.
She had been wearing a black mini dress that she wished she had never bought, but she was wearing it anyway. Matt, in all his blonde haired glory, came up to her and said," Hey sexy."
Immediately she had backed away. "Um, I don't think-."
He had grabbed her arm softly and said," Don't worry, it's cool. I'm not like that anyways. I just wanted to say hi... and that you were sexy."
She remembered how her cheeks burned up with the rosy color that had risen into them. "Oh, I-."
"Hey sis," her brother said coming up to her and shooting Matt a glare.
"Hi," she responded as she looked at Matt. He seemed a little surprised, but he was grinning.
"So, she's your sis, bro?" Matt had asked her brother.
"Yeah, and she's off limits. " her brother responded in a hard voice.
"That's a shame, she's pretty hot, I was going to take her on a date. And, I think she can make her own decisions." Matt responded with a smirk.
"Yeah! I can make my own decisions," she had said. She had no idea where the newfound courage was coming from, but she knew that she liked it.
Her brother shot daggers at Matt. "I don't even know you that wel. So naturally, I don't like the idea of you with my sister. If you do anything to hurt her, I will..... Do something. And you won't like it."
He turned to her and said," If he does anything to you, tell me, and I will kick his ass all the way to outer space."
She rolled her eyes. "I will be fine. He won't hurt me."
The problem was that Matt did hurt her. But at that time, she had no one to tell.
