Katie and I got into the car and headed to the airport to pick Des up. Twenty minutes later, we made it to the airport and saw Des standing outside waiting for us with all of her luggage. We both noticed that she had looked tired and stressed. I definitely had to talk to her about it later.
"Hi!" We greeted her as she got into my car.
"Hi, guys." She responded. "Thank you for picking me up."
"You're welcome. Now, explain to me exactly why you haven't called us in four years." Katie said.
"I...I don't know. I'm sorry guys. He was always controlling. He wouldn't let me contact any of you guys. I couldn't stay there anymore." She said sadly. How awful was he to her?
"It's okay. Whatever happened, it is over. You are here with us. And you aren't going back." Katie responded. She just gave us a small smile in return.
The car was filled with Katie's and Des's voice as I drove to the mall. We got out and went walking around for a bit. We went into one store and looked for a new outfit to wear to the Got7 concert tonight. Both Katie and Des had already found their outfits that they were sold on so all we had to do was pick one for me. We ended up going to about 4 different stores. None of them had what I wanted. I had previously decided that I wasn't gonna go all out. I just wanted to buy a cheap shirt and maybe a new pair of jeans. I wasn't really looking for a dress. They weren't my favorite. Every time I would pick a shirt up that I liked, I would put it right back down because of the price. $60 for a shirt? Nope. Wasn't gonna happen.
"Liz! Omg I found your dress!" I groaned
"Dress? No, thanks. I always look fat in dresses. That is why I wear loose clothes." I picked up a random shirt beside me. "Like this."
"Please, Liz. This is gonna look amazing on you! Just try it on to amuse me. Please?" Des said.
"Fine. Whatever." I sighed and rolled my eyes. I walked over to Des and took it from her hands. It was a black and white long-sleeved striped dress that I could already tell was gonna be tight on me. I sighed again and walked back to dressing room.
"Wait! Liz! Put these tights on underneath your dress. It is gonna be cute."
I tried on the dress and just as I had predicted, it was super tight and showed off everything I didn't want it to show off.
"How does it look?" An anxious Des asked. I stepped out of the dressing room and sighed.
"It's too tight." I whined.
"Oh my gosh! It looks amazing on you! Them boys are gonna be drooling and falling to their knees." Katie said.
"You're buying. No questions." Des said as she crossed her arms.
"But-"
"No buts. Go pay for it. We will be waiting."
"But I don't like how tight it is. It shows literally everything off that I don't want shown. Look at my hips. They are the size of the world. That's not attractive."
"Oh yes it is, honey. I promise." Des said.
"Just go buy the dang thing so I can eat already!" Katie yelled at me.
"Okay, okay. You don't have to yell at me."
After we bought our clothes, we went to the mall court and ate some food. I had a chicken sandwich with fries while Des and Katie had something else. I looked down at the time and realized that we had about two hours to get ready for the concert. We headed home and started to get ready. After about an hour and a half, we all were dressed and ready.
