Agate is a very famous mineral rock that is recognized easily by it's banded colours. It is classically associated with volcanic rocks and can be common in certain metamorphic rocks.

There are many types and colours of agate. There are also geodes of agates and tumbled agates.

How to recognize Agate:

Agate can very easily be recognized by it's bands and lines. The above images show Agate with nice bands covering the precious mineral. If there is still trouble recognizing gemstones, ask a professional or a friend who knows well about them. (You can also ask me if you'd like)

Where to find Agate:

Agates are sometimes found at beaches (that is not used for holidays, since those types of beaches would be cleared) but is found worldwide.
