It Was an Accident

What if I was a Wizard? Hmmmm?

With the power to provide for all the people of Oz?

Give a brain to the clueless

Give a heart to the numb

Give courage to the terrified

Give clarity to the lost

To any wizard, this would be nothing

And that's the thing

I am not a Wizard

I wasn't meant to be here

In this place of wonder

In this impossible reality

I swear I heard the story a thousand times

I know you've heard this cliche at least once

Then what am I doing here?

Why stay here?

Why live this lie?

Swept off my feet into the air

Into the path drawn by young minds

It was an accident

I promise

You needed someone who could do anything

Fight for the good

Be Great and Powerful

Invincible if that's your thing

But I can't do such things

Just a circus con-man with a projector

I'm sorry that you came all this way for a mechanical tool

I want to go home

Before we depart, think.

Why would the wisest man beg for a brain?

Should the one who would kill for a heart be the one drowning in tears?

And a fearless creature do anything for courage?

So what am I doing here?

I'm clearly not needed

Friends, don't be fooled by superiority

That's the most knowledge I feel needs to be provided

I'm sorry

It was an accident

I promise

But like many people who seek the wizard

I want to go home
