Reilley found Lizzie and Nate as she was leaving the headmaster's office. Then, Nick came up behind them with Karson and Scorpius.
"How come you got off the hook like that!" yelled Scorpius.
"Why did you?" said Scorpius, "Is it because they feel sorry for you?"
"NO PLEASE, STOP IT NOW!", yelled Reilley.
"Guys stop, we all know it's because she can't stand up for herself. So the teachers do it for her!" exclaimed Karson with a haughty look.
Reilley spun on her heels and ran, no sooner, though, had something wrapped around her ankles, sending her skidding into the ground. Her hands barely cushioned the fall, and she hit the ground with a thump. She bit her lip on the ground, and blood was all over the floor. And when she tried to scream, no sound came out. She wasn't gagged, but as she turned over she could see Scorpius muttering a silencing charm.
"What's wrong Weasley, cat got your tongue?" Karson, her OWN brother, was being like this. Scorpius and Karson erupted in laughter, but something was missing. No, someone. Reilley looked around, and saw that Nick was nowhere to be seen. She knew he was near though. She couldn't think, her head was throbbing. Scorpius and Karson's laughter were slowly drowning into the background, and then everything went black.
Then, within a few minutes, Reilley could hear someone. She sat up, trying to remember what had happened. "Leave her alone!" yelled Nate angrily. Reilley woke up and looked around. Her memory was ever slowly coming back to her. She could start to see it, Scorpius and Karson, then her running, tripping, She also remembered that Nick was nowhere in sight, but as she looked back on her memory she thought she notice a humanoid shadow lurking by the window.
She turned to Nate, "How long have I been out? And where'd they go?"
"Don't worry, I got here right when you hit the ground. You've only been out a few minutes. And as for where they went, the moment they saw me they ran. Although they did try and stun me. I deflected most of them. But I only saw Karson and Scorpius. Then a flash of red light came out of the curtains by the window. I tried to stop it, but it kinda, maybe hit you square in the chest, I'm sorry. When I moved towards the curtains a black rock hit the ground, what I thought was Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder. When the darkness finally cleared you were starting to wake up."
"That's strange, whoever tried hit me with the spell was reviving me. And I think I remember seeing a shadowy figure by the windows. We'd best get to class though, potions class starts in 3 minutes!
"Potions, why does it always have to be potions! Why can't it be history class the days we're late for class," Nate complained loudly." The two friends rushed to class, leaping from staircase to staircase to get to the dungeons as quick as possible. They had finally tumbled down the steps to the dungeon, already several minutes late. They opened the door to the classroom, and rushed in so fast that Nate tripped over his feet. They both went flying to the ground, Reilley landed on top of Nate. The Ravenclaws could barely contain their laughter. Both Nate and Reilley went red with embarrassment.
In unison, and in very worried and embarrassed voices, "Sorry, Professor Sna..." There rushed voices stopped, as they looked up. Standing at the head of the classroom was not an angry Snape, but an older man, seemingly in his forties with grey hair.
"It's Slughorn, my dears. Professor Slughorn, my good friend Snape is currently residing in bed, ill, and has come down with a cold. I will be your substitute teacher. Now now, why are you two shaking? Don't worry, you were only a few minutes late, but it be best if class started now. So please, take your seats."
The rest of the week went by without a hiccup, it being especially better that Snape had not shown up for any of the classes. Professor Slughorn really knew his potions, and said that Reilley had true potential. This was met with applause from both the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, as it seemed everyone saw Reilley's talent, only Snape was blind to it. Reilley had forgotten about Quidditch for the mean time. She only had one more game left, as she had played one during the weekend, where they flattened Hufflepuff. Reilley had found the Snitch in no time, with no problems.
