"Here, let me help you up." Demi says walking over to Odell who's still on the floor. "I'm so sorry."

"There's no need to apologize. We both knew what we were getting into." He says, wincing at the pain as he slowly stands up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'll be alright."

"Trey wants a divorce. In a way I'm relieved, I just hope he makes this an easy process so that I can move on in peace...hopefully, I can move on with you."

He sighs. "In light of everything, I think we should you know, cool down for a bit. At least while you're going through your divorce. But for right now, I don't wanna think about you and me, or you and Trey. Focus should be on lil man."

Demi nods. "Can you at least stay in the room with us?"

"I never planned to leave. He is my son after all."

Later that day, when everything's said and done, Everette will be okay. Some days later, he's able to come home. During their stay, Trey was still banned, but he did call to check on Everette, and once Everette felt up to it, he'd talk to Trey.

When they get to the house, it's later in the evening, so the kids are already bathed and in pajamas. Trey isn't here, as I expected. I don't know if he's been here this whole time while I've been at the hospital with Everette and the kids or if he's been out doing God knows what. At this point, I don't care. As long as he comes to see the kids, I'm not bothered.

Odell stuck around while Everette was still in the hospital. He checked on Demi and the kids daily and helped Demi with whatever she needed. He decides to call Demi to make sure they made it home okay. After a few rings, Demi finally picks up the phone.

"Hey you." She says.

"Hey...you guys make home okay?"

"Yeah. The kids are all bathed and ready for bed. Well, baby trey is already sleep next to me on the couch."

"How's Ev?"

"He's good. Still in some pain, but I just gave him his medicine, so he should be out for the night real soon."

"Is his leg elevated."

"Yes, it is. Don't worry, I have everything under control over here."

"I'm just making sure my son is getting the best treatment."

"Yeah, well he's my son too, so of course he's going to get the best."

"Do you plan on telling him?" Odell asks.

"I don't know."

"What you mean you don't know?"

"Odell I don't know. Okay? I'm still trying to decide."

"Don't you think he deserves to know who his real father is."

"He's known Trey to be his father his entire life, I'm not sure how he will take it."

"He'll take it just fine."

"You're being really selfish right now and you're just thinking of yourself, you're not thinking about what's best for our son."

"What's best is for him to know."

"Best for who though, you, or him."

"For the both of us."

"I don't know. I'll think about it."

"Okay."

"I wish you were here."

"Yeah, but you know who can walk in at any minute and that wouldn't be good for anyone."

Just as Odell says that, Demi hears the front door open.

"Speaking of..." she sighs. "I'll call you back later, Trey just walked in." She says quietly.

"Okay, talk to you later."

Trey walks into the living room where Demi and the kids are.

"Daddyyyy!" Brooklyn says as she runs up to him and he picks her up.

"Hey babygirl." He gives her a kiss on the cheek. "What are you still doing up."

"She's about to go to bed."

"Do I have to? I wanna stay up with daddy."

"It's okay, I'll see you tomorrow." He says putting her down. "Where's Everette?"

"Upstairs in his room. He was playing video games but he's probably sleeping. He just took his pain medicine."

"Don't you think you should be keeping an eye on him."

"We leave him alone playing his video games in his room all the time. Tonight is no different."

He ignores what she says and heads upstairs. Demi picks up baby Trey and heads upstairs with Brooklyn following close behind.

"Baby go to your room and I'll be in there to tuck you in in a bit."

"Okay" Brooklyn walks into her room and gets in bed while Demi puts Trey in his bed. She turns out the light and walks into Brooklyn's room.

"Okay babygirl. I love you." She before giving her a kiss.

"Love you too."

"Goodnight sweetie." Trey says as he stands in the doorway.

"Night daddy."

Demi turns out the light and goes to Ev's room to see he's already asleep. She heads to her and Trey's bedroom, with Trey following closely behind.

He sits a large white envelope full of papers—divorce papers, on the bed. Demi picks it up and opens it.

"Split everything down the middle. Assets, the joint account. Sell the house, split it down the middle."

"Sell the house? This is your kids' home. They'd have to change schools, leave their friends."

"The house is in my name, and it's what I want. Be grateful I'm even giving you something from it."

"I don't want the money Tremaine. I want my kids to keep their home."

"We're selling, and until then, I don't want Odell anywhere around here. Did you tell Everette?"

"No. I haven't."

"What you waitin on?"

"I don't wanna mess him up. But I still haven't made a final decision on if I'm going to tell him or not."

Trey nods. "I'll be back tomorrow night to see the kids." He says then leaves.
