Claire's POV
The plan needs to happen sooner than expected. Bailey is getting training on her powers and we will all be practically defenseless once she masters the use of them.
I need to call my accomplice as soon as I get back from feeding.
They'll know soon.
Everyone will know soon.
War will start within a few days, and all hell will break loose.
A young female jogs past me, completely oblivious to my hunger.
Pushing back my worries about my accomplice, Bailey, and the war; I chase after the girl.
Harry's POV
"Hey, man," I say happily, opening the door for Michael.
"Hey, thanks a lot for letting me stay here Harry," he replies, dropping his bags in the hallway entrance.
"Nah, don't worry about it," I assure.
I lead him into the living room where Bailey sits, reading a book she found in my room.
"That's her?" he whispers into my ear.
I nod my head.
"Bailey, meet Michael. Michael, meet Bailey."
She looks up from the tattered book and smiles brightly at him.
"Hi, it's nice to finally meet you," she says, setting the book to the side and shaking his hand.
"The pleasure is all mine, sweetheart," he replies with charm.
She blushes as he brings her delicate hand up to his lips, leaving a wet kiss to her knuckles.
I can't help the sudden jealousy that courses within me. I know she loves me; she's my mate. But the way Michael is already talking and treating her like she is his, really pisses me off.
Clearing my throat, I speak, "Where did you come from Michael?"
I take a seat next to Bailey and sling my arm over her shoulders, pressing her into my side.
"Trinidad," he smirks, sitting in the chair.
"Wow," Bailey says. "What was it like?"
"Pretty cool. I've been there about four times before, so it wasn't anything new to me," he replies smugly.
"Where's your favorite place to visit?" she asks.
Bailey leans her head against a shoulder, sighing contently.
Michael scrunches up his face, proving that he is thinking hard about this question.
"Spain," he nods, assuring his answer.
"I've always wanted to go there," she replies.
"You should go at some point. You're missing out on a lot, sweetheart."
She lifts her right shoulder into a shrug.
"I'm content right here for now," she smiles sweetly.
"Understandable. Harry's got a fine place out here," Michael replies, eyeing the vast room. "Nice and secluded from people, huh?"
"Yeah. Wouldn't want any humans finding out about us," I cut in.
"That's for damn sure!" he exclaims, laughing loudly. "Hell, war would break out instantly. Mortals against immortals."
I don't know why he found that so funny, to be honest.
Though, I do remember Michael having a dark and sinister mind at times. Even when we were children he would always love to discuss his gruesome ideas.
