emerald's pov:

"emerald can you come here for a second please."I heard my mom emily yell from downstairs."coming mom. " I say as I get up and use my super speed to get downstairs to the kitchen. I get down there and see my mom going through the fridge looking for something for the party tonight. im finally turning  sixteen so are my closest friends dean, liv, Jackson, and Isabella. and since our families are really close we are all having the party together.  im mostly exceited because now I can finally find my mate. my mom turns around and jumps dropping everything in her hands."emerald you know I hate it when you do that." she says as I kneel down and pick up the stuff from the floor."im sorry mom I just wanted to hurry up and see what you needed." I say and her expression softens and she says"thats alright honey I need you to make the cake." and I smile because I love to bake. today is gonna be great day...I hope.

deans pov:

today im turning sixteen and im suppose to find my mate but I honestly dont want a mate I like being single. so the solution is simple Ill just reject her. it should be easy since I proably wont even know her. I turn around as the door to my bedroom opens. in walks Ashley my "girlfriend" and also the school slut. I dont really like her but she is easily manipulated and thats good for me. she is coming with me to the party tonight. so if my mate is there it should keep her away. "you ready? " I ask her and she shakes her head yes and we walk out to my car and leave to the party.

emerald's pov:

liv and Isabella are helping me do my hair and makeup for when I find my mate. and Jackson is sitting on my bed watching them do their work. once they we done they pulled out a dress for me to put on and it was black with a green ribbon. I went to the bathroom and put it on. I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked beautiful. my toe head*yes i have natural blonde hair even though both my parents have black hair* blonde hair was long and curled and my emerald green eyes were shining bright because of the dark eye makeup.  and the dress was short but not too short and clung to my body and made my curves show in all the right places. my mate was gonna love this...I hope. I go back up to my room but no one was in there. so I went downstairs and found skylar, alex, livvy, and xander I went around and gave all my hugs and hellos and they all complimented my look for today. after that I went outside and found everyone out there helping set the table and my dad blake was barbecuing it smelled good. I turned around and walked into emmet and Samantha I apologized and gave them hugs and then I smelt the most amazing smell ever. I followed it and walked around the buliding to find dean making out with Ashley the school slut. dean is my mate?!?!

me and Ashley were just walking up to the party when I smelt an amazing smell but I figured it was my mate so I started kissing Ashley and then I heard someone coming around the corner when I looked up I saw it was emerald and then all I felt was guilty...I didnt want to do this to emerald...I love emerald....oh my god how could I have been so stupid ive always felt a draw towards her but I never put the peices together...oh god.. I run after her and catch up to her at the river under the willow tree we use to climb on when we were younger. she was crying and I came up and turned her around and made her look at me."emerald im so sorry I didnt know you were my mate...I didnt want a mate thats why I brought her but...but I love emerald and I do want you as my mate...will you accept me?" I say and she looks at me and says"I love you too dean and yes I will accept you but you need to prove to me your done sleeping around. " she says and I reply"I will do whatever it takes I swear" and then I kiss her and I love the sparks it was the best kiss I ever had.
