"Juno, are you meeting us later?" Asked Lucy, tucking a stray piece of her jet black hair behind her ear as the pair left the Arithmancy classroom.

The dark haired Hufflepuff girl thought for a moment, continuing in her stride with her Slytherin friend.

"Depends on who else will be there Lucy, you know how much Alissa has been driving me mad lately."

Lucy chuckled in agreement, as it would be rather a distinct untruth to state that Alissa Carlton had no annoying qualities.

A vivacious Ravenclaw, Alissa's unrelenting positivity in the face of anything was something surprisingly easy to get mad at.

Particularly when the sixth years were going through a series of small mid year tests before the Christmas break, and no matter the caliber of student there was a certain feeling of panic.

"Alissa's spending the evening with Michael I think," Lucy spoke, looking forward to the boy with the curling locks of blonde hair that walked in front of them.

Juno laughed, despite her frustration with Alissa's relentless positivity, her nearly formed relationship with fellow Ravenclaw Michael Davis was quite adorable.

"You have Herbology now don't you?" Lucy asked, digging through her bag on a search for her timetable.

"Yeah, with Gryffindor," Juno spoke, "You have Transfiguration, with basically the entirety of the Ravenclaw sixth years seeing as none of them dropped it."

Lucy relaxed her hands and slung her bag back over her back. "I honestly don't know why I can never remember my timetable. There can't be many Gryffindors still taking Herbology by sixth year?"

Juno's eyebrows raised at her friend. "Honestly, I've been surprised, at least half of them are still taking it and I think the rest are on a study period. Although, we've only been doing individual work on small plants as of now and it's been rather easy, and Professor Sprout was suggesting that we'll be doing bigger work soon, on the way harder plants."

"Gonna get yourself a partner then," the girl teased, wiggling her strong eyebrows.

"Not everything is about boys Lucy," laughed Juno, rolling her eyes. "Now shove off, if you keep walking with me you're gonna be in the wrong place and McGonnagall will kill you."

Lucy chuckled and darted off down the corridor. "Fine, I'll see you after dinner Juno," she shouted, before running forth to stand with a small group of the other Slytherins headed to Transfiguration.

Juno continued down the corridor, pushing her slipping glasses back up her nose as she trekked off to the greenhouses.

"Sinclair," called a deep voice from behind her, and Juno whipped her curled hair around to see sandy haired Gryffindor Remus Lupin coming towards her with a smile.

"Afternoon Lupin," she grinned as he fell into step easily beside her.

"How're you finding Arithmancy?" He asked, filling the corridor with idle small talk.

Juno grimaced. "Honestly, I love the history behind it and everything, and I find learning about it so fascinating but I just cannot do it for the life of me! I scraped by my exam by knowing the basics and acing the actual background and theory behind it, but I am just no good at all with numbers."

Remus laughed as they headed down a flight of stairs. "Honestly, why did you decide to take it this year then?"

"Because it's so interesting! In all honesty though, Professor Sprout is about to let me transfer to Astronomy, I did quite well in it last year and at this rate I won't pass my NEWTs by doing Arithmancy."

The Herbology greenhouses were in sight as Remus frowned. "There'll be a good bit of catching up to do, how are you going to manage that?"

Juno grinned up at him. "Well Lupin, I am smarter than I look. I'll probably actually just spend most of Christmas break catching up, but Sprout says that Professor Hesta will consider having a student teach me."

Remus nodded, and pulled open the door to the greenhouse to hold it open for her.

"Why thank you very much," she grinned, nodding to him before walking over to her seat in the second to back row beside Angela Jones, a tan, blonde haired witch whom she shared a dorm with.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we've all arrived. I'll have to give you a quick run down of some things to do with what we are dealing with today, but first I would like you to gather your gloves and aprons."

"Switched out of Arithmancy yet?" Asked Angela, passing Juno her gloves and apron, which she had grabbed before the girl even arrived.

"In the process. Sprout says that I'll likely start next week, but I'll have to sort out getting the correct books first."

Angela nodded, before looking around her and breaking into a whisper. "Did you hear about Bennett and Young?"

Juno looked confused. "Joseph Bennett from Hufflepuff and Kelly Young from Gryffindor?"

"Yes Kelly Young, but no I'm talking about Robert Bennett from Slytherin, the Irish one?"

Juno leaned closer in. "Well now I know who you're talking about, but what on earth happened?"

"They were caught by the head girl Effie Holmes and your sister snogging in the Transifguration classroom! Apparently Effie had no choice but to give them a weeks worth of detention for "fornification where anyone could walk in", but she could barely keep a straight face about it!"

Juno laughed, slightly astounded. "Why on earth was my sister with Effie Holmes?"

"Getting tutoring for Transfiguration I was told. How hilarious though, I thought those two hated each other!" Angela laughed, shaking her long hair.

"Alright students, today we will be dealing with Venomous Tentacula. I've previously told you all about them but I shall remind you that their bite could kill you, and you must stay on watch within their reach. Now everyone go and grab some soil and then we can sort out how we shall do this."

As Sprout busied herself with her own pre-prepared soil, the class headed to the various soil collecting locations around the room to gather their own.

Juno had a large sack grasped in her hands as she headed back to her bench, her glasses barely peeking over the top.

"Hey Juno, how much did we need again?" Asked Angela, causing Juno to look around at the girl as she kept walking.

"Just a lot," she began, smiling behind her bag, which she noted smelt brilliantly earthy and homely.

Before Juno could even make it back to her desk with her soil bag, a heavy force knocked into her, and she fell to the ground on her back, covered in dirt which did as much to fall right into her mouth, staring up into a pair of laughing grey eyes.
