"Come on Juno, I said anti-clockwise," grumbled Lucy, as their potion turned the same green colour as the stripes among her tie. "It's supposed to be pink at the moment!"
"I'm sorry Lucy, I don't know my lefts and rights and you didn't give me long enough to think about which way a clock ticks!" Sighed Juno.
Lucy rolled her eyes, which shone brightly against her dark skin. "Nevermind, we'll start over and this time I'll do the stirring. We'll need some more porcupine quills though, you get those while I dump this."
Juno nodded, heading off happily across the room to the large stacks of ingredients.
"I wonder how they get so many porcupine quills," she mused, admiring the many clear jars full.
"Can't be an easy job huh," spoke up a voice from beside her.
Juno looked up to see James Potter grinning at her, his hazel eyes lit up as he stared at the Hufflepuff.
"Are you following me now?" Juno teased, tossing back her ponytail as she raised her eyebrows at the scruffy haired boy.
James chuckled, shaking his head. He reached out his hand to grab and handful of porcupine quills, "did you know that Sirius never used to know the difference between hedgehogs and porcupines?"
Juno nodded. "Actually quite easily done, my sister Vesta never knew the difference either, she once took in a hedgehog she found in the garden and named it Piney Pork."
"Piney Pork?"
"Vesta was six, and thought she'd caught a porcupine. She wasn't very creative with names," Juno shrugged.
"Vesta, she's a Gryffindor right? Third year?" James questioned, peering at Juno through his glasses.
Juno nodded. "That's the one. Don't actually know of any other girls at Hogwarts called Vesta anyway," she thought, squinting in thought.
"Well let me tell you a story about Vesta then," he grinned, shoving her lightly in the shoulder.
"Sorry James, Lucy is going to kill me if I'm late back with these quills. She's already mad enough that I screwed it up the first time, but I'm interested in the story, tell me after class?" She questioned, patting him on the shoulder and wandering off without an answer.
Juno returned to Lucy, who was staring at her with piercing eyes. "Took your time, Juno. Never mind, you're just in time for us to add the quills. You put them in, and I'll do the rest," she grinned, her entire demeanour changing as she took over.
Juno sat back in her stool after placing the quills in, and admired Lucy as she followed each step carefully, keeping an eye on the book, her cauldron and the clock.
