Chapter 2: Is Marshall a Ghost?

The next day, everything was normal; Zuma was trying to help Rocky with his fear of water, Skye, Marshall, and Snowflake were playing tag, and Chase and Rubble were just hanging out. Ryder then walked out of The Lookout and over to Chase and Rubble.

"Hi Rubble and Chase. What's up?" Ryder asked.

"Nothing much, Ryder sir!" Chase replied back. Chase and Rubble quickly spotted a ball on the side though, and played with it for a while as Ryder left, and went to do some work on his ATV. 

Soon, Zuma, Rocky, Skye, and Snowflake came into The Lookout.

"Hi Chase and Rubble!" Zuma said before getting Rocky a towel.

"Hi pups. Where's Marshall?" Chase asked.

"He's helping Ryder with his ATV. It needs to get washed," Snowflake answered. Rubble then had a thought. 

"Hey guys, I just thought of something; what if Marshall is a ghost? Like for real!" Rubble commented. Chase, Zuma, Rocky, Skye, and Snowflake all stared at him before laughing.

"Dude, I doubt that. You'we pwobably just wemembewing Mawshall under that bed sheet last night," Zuma said as he came back, giving the towel to Rocky.

"Yeah, I mean there's no way we could actually prove Marshall's a ghost, right?" Skye added. The pups all thought about the situation.

"Well, we could do some investigating," Rubble suggested, thinking of different ideas.

"Well, how can he be a ghost if he's not dead? Besides, ghosts don't say 'ow' and 'I'm okay' after hitting an object. It's pretty simple understanding," Chase told the pups. Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Maybe he's only a ghost at night? Or during parts of the night?" Rubble said, thinking of other options.

"Even if he was, why be a ghost at certain parts of the night? I mean, what would he even do?" Rocky asked as he finished drying off.

"Exactly!" Snowflake said in agreement. Rubble kept thinking aa they talked. Even if everything his friends said was true, there was still a chance Marshall might be a ghost.

"Well, I still think Marshall could be a ghost! So, any of you pups want to join me in catching Marshall as a ghost?" Rubble said with determination.

"Well, if you're going to try to catch Marshall as a ghost, that means setting up traps! So let me help you," Rocky offered, despite his doubts.

"Well, I have wanted to be part of a ghost adventure, so even if Marshall isn't a ghost, I'd like to join!" Skye said, wanting to be part of the adventure.

"Same hewe. Never been on a ghost mission. Count me in dude," Zuma said with slight interest after rolling his eyes.

"No thank you," Chase and Snowflake said at the same time, clearly not interesting in some silly ghost adventure that most likely wasn't real.

"Perfect! Let's watch Marshall tonight, and see if there's anything spooky! I'll take the first watch, then let the rest of you know if I see anything" Rubble said happily. The others wagged their tails

Now they had a plan.
