"Every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force."Newton's First Law of Motion.
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
Newton's Third Law of Motion.
You got me hanging from a rope,
getting shorter with every word,
and I don't know what to expect
when the trim will come up next,
but I only become to move faster.
You pushed the exact button needed,
'cause I would have stayed still, here.
But now I'm swinging back and forth,
and, know, my period is more precise
than that metronome you seem to despise.
Sit and watch, cause I'm an iridium pellet,
I come and go; swish, swish: as rare, as shiny.
Speak and do, cause I am an acid repellent.
It just makes me think of you so really tiny,
behind that smile of mercury:
so hot, but so melty.
We could have been equals, but you chose
to play hard to get, now we're just but opposites.
Good for you I'll stay on my limits, I'm a pendulum.
And you'll get back what you threw away,
cause you just didn't want to come and stay.
I call it a night and I'll sleep tight again,
then tomorrow back at it again, to spin and swing.
Rest secure, I assure you, Foucault's pendulum
will keep going on and on, is it day, is it dark.
Don't like strings, just for now, I'll be here;
Just a little reminder: life's a pendulum.
The tick-tock swing, you hear?
'Cause in the end, Galileo knew
we'll hit the floor at the same time.

Pendulum
PoetryTo me, Pendulum, my first collection of original poems, was a journey into myself. The pathway to self-discovery, emotional liberation, introspection and empowerment. Most importantly, I learned to understand better the concept of loving oneself.
