Chapter 5

"Here's your room from now on."I stared bewilderedly at the outstandingly spacious room. The antique white walls were beautifully adorned by eye catching paintings. I mouth stayed agape as I made myself into the chamber.

"Hmm... Aren't I supposed to be treated as a prisoner?" I blurted out. I was sure Alexander said that I were to be a prisoner until the mystery would be solved.

"Yes, but that stay in between us three. Because Alexander, neither want you to be in danger nor the whole kingdom. You know rumors travel fast. So Alexander thought that it would be better if you stay here as a guest. You know, to avoid attention." Huh! Really to avoid attention? I really doubted that.

He gave me his famous cheeky smile as he bent down on his knees and kissed my hand "Anyway ma chérie, my name is Alpha Zach. I'm Alexander's younger brother." So basically he was one of the royals. Seriously how many of them were there?

"Unfortunately its time for me to take a leave. A bientôt my lady. We'll meet soon." he walked out of the room with such a grace that left me wonder if he was a girl or not.

Lots of unusual stuff had been happening to me lately. A good bath might do the trick I guess...

"The Lord told you to be ready for lunch." A very high pitch voice made its appearance through the door. I moved myself to the door and pulled the knob to see a young brunette with dark hazel eyes.

"You could have come in you know." I gave her a smile as I remove myself from the door so she could make herself in.

"O-Oh no, thank you. I c-can't because I'm j-just a maid." She stammered as her cheeks grew red.

"Don't worry. I don't mind." I said , hoping that it would reassure her.

"Well, The Lord said that you should be ready for lunch. He doesn't like people being late so, I think you should get started Miss. All Alphas will be present. So he sent me to dress you accordingly."

It actually took me some times to process all of these. Oh God! I'm so not ready for this!

"So I am supposed to wear this thing, Wendy?" I pointed at long silky dress which was currently lying on the bed. Even though it was attractive, I was getting uncomfortable just by looking at it. I looked so heavy and how am I supposed to walk with that thing on me. To make matters worst Wendy said I should wear heels. What the heck!

"Isn't there anything else to wear. I mean something a little less...heavy?"

"I am afraid so, Ma'am. That dress is the only one available for now. So you should start preparing yourself. " With that she dashed out of the room saying, " I will come to escort you for the dinner later."

"This is going to be a tiring day,"I whispered to myself.

"Are you sure I am going to be all right there, Wendy? Wait! I think I got it, why don't you just accompany me downstairs. I'm sure Alexander would understand. Please Wendy, just for a moment imagine yourself in my place. I mean, only the royals are going to be downstairs. What if I die. They hate human afterall..." I kept on ranting and all she was doing was standing by my side and blocking her ears with her hands. I didn't blame her though. I was sure she was already tired of my pathetic self even though we had only met eache other few hours ago.
