She lends her pen,
to thoughts of him,

that flow from it,

in her solitary.

For she is his poet,

And he is her poetry.

'Give her sometime.', he said rubbing his hands. He was freezing.

'I can't.', he was shivering.

'Be patient Dawood.'

'I can't.'

He looked so miserable to him as if a meager asking for water from heavens in an isolated desert.

'It was wrong. No?', he asked Baba with curiosity.

'What?'

'What she did to me before.', he said while moving his hands.

'Yeah it was bad to do so.'

'She just snatched him away. She didn't even hear his cries.'

'Well did you?'

'Me what.'

'Did you hear her cries?'

'Why would I hear her cries?', he said shaking his head.

'No Dawood you're being selfish again.', he glared at him.

'No, I mean I don't no. I need both of them in my life now. I've suffered a lot for them.', he was breathing harshly.

'And what about her suffering?'

It dawned on him. Lighting up his insides with a raging fire and he was swirling with the flame.

'All these five years she was all alone to bring him up and before that she gave birth to him. It's not easy to give birth Dawood. You can't even bare the half of that pain she has been through. Could you?'

He shook his head looking down at the floor.

'She is all stone now. These five difficult years have now made her hard as stone. You need to take it slow boy or else a stone doesn't join it's pieces to become its former self again.', he admonished him, tried to feed some brains in his thick skull.

'Listen I'm not solely blaming you for this situation. What she did today was very bad too and I know she must be regretting it by now. You just need to give her some time now.'

He was trying to absorb it. Baba was right. She must have been through a lot and alone. But then again he was always right. But where was Dawood right. He could put altogether his jumbled self.

'Why is this happening to me?', he was exhausted now.

'Dawood, just try and understand. Allah is testing your limits. Just don't be too quick to draw conclusions from what happens to you, simply let it happen. Otherwise it will be too easy for you to look with blame... at your past, which naturally has a share with everything that now meets you.', it was deep, but he understood.

'Go home and think about it. About her behavior. And definitely about your behavior too.', he nodded while tapping his hands.

He stood up and was about to leave when he heard him.
