Chapter 19: Dissolving

Annabeth Pov

Today was the day I was going to do it it was 8 pm and I only had 4 hours.

We kept walking everyone had stupid grins on their faces because we had such a fun day!

"I'm tired can we rest!" whined Megan.

I wanted to tell at her that we can't stop (A/N XD Miley Cyrus!)

"NO!" I yelled.

They all stop and stare at me like I was crazy. "I mean we're close to our destination and..." I looked at Percy.

"Maybe a few minutes of rest wouldn't hurt right?" Megan smiled and sat down.

We were in the forest or a place where many trees were.

I sat down next to Percy, and Megan went straight to sleep, then a few minutes later we all fell asleep.

I know you're going to call me stupid but even though I'm a daughter of Athena, I guess sometimes we can make wrong decisions.

I woke up and checked my watch, it was 11:10 pm! I guess I was really sleepy I looked around everyone was still sleeping. Percy was drooling as usual, Megan just sleeping, and Roger snoring.

I stood up and began to pack up my stuff, and I heard the bush again. I turned around, and nothing.

I sighed and checked my watch, 11:13, I packed all my stuff and began to wake up everyone.

I sat down, "Wake up guys!" I said loudly so they can hear me.

Megan groaned, "Ugh, what time is it?"

"11:13 come one we're almost close to our destination we just need-"

I couldn't finish my sentence cause just then a bush made a loud noise.

Percy shot up awake and so did Roger, Megan looked scared.

"What was that?!" said Roger.

Percy stood up and reached in his pocket to pull out something but he stopped and pulled his hand out of his pocket. Probably reaching out for riptide.

"Maybe it's a rabbit?" asked Megan.

"Yeah that could be it," said Percy, but he didn't look to convinced.

"Anyway I woke you guys up cause we're close to our destination and if we finish today, we can go home."

"Okay the sooner we finish this, the sooner I can sleep in a more comfortable bed then the grass," said Megan.

"Okay let's g-"

Percy couldn't finish his sentence because just then the bush began to rattle.

We all looked at that direction. We didn't know what that was but I was scared.

"Get in back of me!" whispered Percy.

"No what if..." what could I say, that maybe there's a monster here! Everyone would think I'm crazy maybe it would give Percy hope about camp. Though I can't tell him now.

"Juliet." he said seriously and looked at me with a very serious expression.

I knew that look, and I had to do what he said I went in back of Percy, Megan in back of Roger who was in the front with Percy.

"What do you think it is? Or better yet who?" Asked Roger.

Percy shrugged.

The bush rattled again we all turned are heads to that direction.
