Cierra

"He's 18 I don't know, Ci." My mom said.

We are having a conversation about the possibility of me and Mike. She said we were gonna have to have a talk after seeing us outside together the other night, but I decided to come and open up the conversation first.

"But that's only a two year difference." I said trying to justify things.

"Two and a half more likely." She said.

"Mommy, I really like him."

"Hey, remember you said as long as your rules and regulations are followed. They'll be followed." I continued.

"And you know his mom-"

"Knowing someone's parents doesn't mean you know their child." She said.

After a long back and forth with my mom she give in.

"I'll allow you to have your little friend," She started.

"Boyfriend." I mumbled then laughed lightly at the face she gave me.

"But-" She continued. "I'm not stupid I know what he does in these streets and in no way shape or form am I saying I approve of it, but I don't want you no where near the shit he does and he better keep you away from that part of his life."

"Okay." I said since I agreed completely.

Couple months later...

"What the fuck, Cierra, no. You are 16 you're not having no sleepovers with your boyfriend. I don't care that he lives on his own and can do as he pleases, you can't. Other girls mom's may allow that shit, but I'm not that mom."

"Okay, mom, okay, it's fine."

"Oh I know it's fine and now you wanna get a little attitude. Oh well be mad. Rules and regulations like I said before."

"Mom, I'm not mad I just hate when you turn things into a long drawn out lecture."

"Cierra, get the hell out of my face." She said obviously done with this conversation and so was I.

"You with Mike already?" My mom asked me over the phone as I was leaving school.

"No, I'm walking to his house." I said.

"Oh okay. Me and Devin about to go get some food. Of course Devin wants nasty McDonald's. I'm getting a sub, you want one?"

"Yeah," I said before telling her what kind I wanted.

"Okay make sure you get home on time miss thing."

"I know, mom." I said.

"And if you go anywhere I want text updates to know exactly where you are."

"I know." I said.

"Oh am I annoying you?"

"Bye, mom." I said laughing.

As soon as I got off the phone with my mom Mike called.

"I'm ten minutes away." He said.

"Okay I'm not there yet, but I will be in like two minutes. You want me to wait outside for you?"

"No ring the doorbell my sister is there. I told her you would be coming so she can open the door."

"Okay cool." I said.

"I missed your fine ass." He said.

"I missed you too." I said blushing.

Since I'm in school and he graduated last year we don't have that much time together except on the weekend. Most days I'll try to come see him for a couple hours after school or he'll stop by my house and see me.
