Chapter 5:

Cierra

Wednesday when I got home with my brother I checked the house phone messages and deleted the one from my school like I do every Wednesday.

"Can you make me a grill cheese?" Devin asked me.

"Yeah, sure." I said placing my bookbag down near the couch.

After making us both a grill cheese we sat watching tv. I was waiting for my mom to get here from work since we are going to get our nails done.

"You ready to go?" My mom asked walking into the house with my Aunt and cousin Bria.

"Yeah. How was work?" I asked her.

"Fine. You know work was work." She said. "I'ma go change quick and I'll be right back."

"Are you coming with us?" My mom asked my brother when she came back downstairs.

"Can I just stay home?" He asked.

"I don't know, Devin. I wanna come back home with my house still here and you might eat me out of a house and home." She said making us laugh.

"I won't mommy, I promise."

"No come on we are gonna go out to eat afterwards. Get that little game and come on." She said making him whine as he walked away to get it.

"He get into too much shit when he bored. No." My mom said flagging him off.

"Oh, Cierra, you paying for your own nails right?" My Aunt asked me once we got to the nail shop.

"What? No my mommy is paying for me." I said.

"Oh your boyfriend didn't give you no money for your nails?" She asked making me narrow my eyes at her then her and my mom started laughing.

"She will not give it up." Bria said chuckling.

"I swear. They are always trying to play me." I said.

Mike called me while I was waiting for mom and aunt's nails to finish drying. I walked outside with Bria answering.

"Oh so you busy?" He asked.

"Shut up you know I told you what I was doing tonight." I said rolling my eyes with a smile.

"I know. I just miss you already."

"I miss you too."

"Caking ass." Bria said making me push her away when she laughed.

"Damn so I'm not gonna see my baby for two whole days." Mike said since I also plan to spend the day with my girls tomorrow.

"Stop." I said smiling.

"I might have to pop up on you tomorrow tho. I need to love on you at least once daily."

"Okay." I said smiling still.

"Who that? You so cheesy! I'm telling, Mike!" My Aunt said.

Mike laughed, "Sounds like you gotta go, but I got plans for us Sunday."

"Oh okay, what plans?" I asked.

"You will see."

"Okay." I said.

When Sunday evening came Mike picked me up.

"Who's car?" I asked since he wasn't driving his own.

"My dad's." He answered and I nodded. "I talked him into letting me use it tonight for this date idea I came up with."

"Oooh okay." I said smiling honestly excited while I put my seat belt on. We've been on a couple dates, but I always get excited when we are together regardless of what we are doing.
